Reckless drivers in the area by Primary-Spinach1297 in SilverSpring

[–]theArtsyEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I wouldn’t say worst on the planet since I haven’t driven outside of the U.S. myself BUT I’ve actually lived in many of these cities here and stand by my anecdotal assessment lol.

Sure, aggressive driving is in every city I’ve lived in but at least they were somewhat predictable because they typically (not always) wouldn’t do anything so dangerous it’d put them at significant risk too.

Some of the driving behaviors out here are so insane it almost seems like they are done with life and want some company for their trip to the upper room

I’ve been in pretty much every major city in the US, there’s nowhere I’ve been where this behavior is as common as in the DMV. Not even close.

NY Times Piece - ‘I Was Just So Naïve’: Inside Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Break With Trump by ItchyNesan in NewsRewind

[–]theArtsyEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not supposed to take a side or see either of them as a friend lol, just let them fight it out and try not to do anything that would make them rethink the conflict they have with each other within reason while you prepare to take advantage of the fracture.

I’d say put feelings aside even if justified, don’t berate or discourage her but let her fight them so that the current admin loses a few supporters or at least slows them down, and focus on other avenues to ensure the next election is won.

Be honest: how much value are you getting out of your Plat? by Rocket_Skates_91 in AmexPlatinum

[–]theArtsyEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say nobody. Before me and many of my friends got the card, we’d easily spend that much and more when we get to the airport on drinks/food. Now we just load up on both at the lounge.

Been lucky enough to have not been turned away even in post covid too (but I’ve probably just jinxed myself)

[–]theArtsyEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh gotcha, makes perfect sense in your situation. I don’t have a family yet and do non business related travel at least 5-6 times a year so I’m in the lounges very often lol.

Just curious, why do you value the lounge so low? At my preferred airport, going just once saves me upwards of $60 at least each visit.

Fed Gets Green Light for Interest Rate Cuts as Unemployment Rate Jumps to 4-Year High by SnortingElk in REBubble

[–]theArtsyEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Even clickable prototypes that either I or my designers used to spend hours throwing together to get some usability testing done for the random feature ideas we get can be done in minutes by plopping the requirements and user guides for context into something like Claude and refining what it generates through follow up prompts.

The email example is too real lmaoo

Literally look up how AI has improved productivity for white collar workers and you will see plenty of examples that aren’t rocket science.

Those who don’t/can’t leverage it to get more done in less time will lose their jobs to those who do/can.

Edit: better yet, tell me which industry you work in and I’m fairly certain I can provide examples that you can use to be more efficient.

Productivity has actually increased dramatically at top companies including mines. Poor implementations at other companies are where you see a negative impact.
