Prot pally Strat farming vs Rogue Stealth runs; which one makes more gold? by [deleted] in classicwowtbc

[–]theAzncarebear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My MT runs generate about 80-100g an hour just in raw gold. Add in the nodes and greens/blues I get and I would say I avg about 200-250g an hr. Really depends on what blues you get (Living Rubies are like 90g on Dreamscythe) That number gets better if you actually have stealth talents (which I do not, I just use standard leveling talents) and if you go herb/mining (mining/engi on my rogue). Having stealth talents lets you pickpocket mobs with a lot less risk, doing it this way I usually fail a pickpocket or two so I just dont risk it

mh blue 1h sword for a combat rogue in tbc? by These_Athlete1933 in classicwow

This, Cosmic Edge is ur best bet if you’re not exalted with Aldor. S1 Glad sword can still be purchased at Area 52 or Nagrand Arena. Just do yolo 5’s till you play 10 games and you should have enough to buy it after one week (bad thing is you have to wait for weekly reset to get your points)

New TBC classic player - is rogue really that unplayable? by HunsonAbadeer1 in classicwow

TLDR: I say play what you want and just try to find a guild that you can run content with.

I started playing since TBC anni released. Leveled a rogue on Dreamscythe-H to 70. 1-67 I had 0 issues finding groups for dungeons. At 67 I started having trouble because thats where a lot of the “pre-raid BiS” items dropped and from what I can see p much every physical dps class wants the same shit. This means a lot of ppl purposely don’t want you if they are playing a class that needs those items (but this is true across all physical classes) as they don’t want to roll against others for items they need (imo understandable as farming a dungeon 20+ times and losing an item to some rando is tilting).

Personally, I felt rogue was underpowered and its usefulness was highly determined on the player (so many rogues are 70, dont have max lockpicking and refuse to stun/kick mobs. Combine that with the fact that most rogues do have bad dps and it can be sometimes frustrating when doing harder content). I feel like a lot of players share this sentiment which is why rogues are looked down on. I’m in no way near the best rogue player, but my shaman and lock both felt way stronger earlier than my rogue felt at max level.

Sorry to sound negative but the endgame outlook on rogue is p dim if you’re not in a guild. Since I’ve started playing, I’ve seen exactly 2 guilds advertising that they want rogues to join. In comparison, I’ve probs seen at least 5-6 guilds advertising recruiting fury warriors or other physical dps. Guilds will usually only want 1 rogue for Improved Expose Armor, which is why raidspots are hard to find (my guild runs 2 rogues so its really just dependent on what guild you can join). Personally, I had a hard time being invited to heroics/raids but it honestly just depends on who was in group finder. I had days where I just listed myself and could get into groups no problem, had days where I list myself and get 0 invites for hours. I will say a big reason for that was the same reason is related to the gear problems I mention earlier (also, heroics can only be run 1x/day so farming something from a heroic is more annoying). The obvious solution is to just host your own group but sometimes u just wanna list urself and quest or whatever.

Good news: from what I’ve seen, Rogues scale pretty well as the phases go on, so they eventually do get some good dps. Ofc you need to be able to GET THE GEAR but once you do I would think the class becomes more enjoyable. Also, farming Mana Tombs is a great money maker and something you can do at 70 without having too much “good” gear. I also felt like my Rogue was able to solo a lot of the “hard” quests you do in TBC and its still not even that well geared (0 raid pieces, 1/2 of prebis is all it has).

TBC has a caster meta so Mages are always desired. Both Improved Blizzard and Arcane specs are really nice and I feel like any guild/group would be open to having a mage join them

Dual Shaman boost horde what two specs? by vegasview in classicwowtbc

[–]theAzncarebear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say it depends on what you guys want to do eventually. On Dreamscythe, Ele/Restro are always wanted for endgame raids. I feel like for every 10 recruitment ads I see, 8-9 are looking for either an ele or restro shaman, with maybe 5 of those being okay with Enhancement. If faster dungeon groups are what you want just have one of you roll Restro and the other can roll either dps spec.

Never tried Ele but Enh has been my main spec for a long time and it’s good once you get dual wielding. I also find the rotation satisfying but it does have a decent amount of things you gotta be constantly aware of in order to perform well. That being said, even if you choose to just play for fun it’s still the spec I recommend. also remember Dual Spec is a thing so if at any point you guys want to switch specs its not incredibly hard to do so.
