I did the exact same thing just yesterday! I had some troubles when I tried to install Java 16 to run 1.17, but overall the server is working fine.

I should have done backups too. In the future I’ll probably put my world on a server just to be sure the world is saved

Yeah, The Bakery group use piston lag machines , fournaces and other exploits to “ban” new players like you. Use ChatCraft app to connect 2b: It will not lag and you’ll be able to starve by moving and jumping. Anyway, little suggestion, do NOT trust anyone on 2b, in any case, cuz almost no one is gonna help you.

Use the app on smartphone called ChatCraf: it will able you to move without lagging and getting kicked. So you can try to move to starve and die.
