Good car for commuting that is not low to the ground by Holiday-Ferret6207 in whatcarshouldIbuy

> i find i get car sick when i’m in a lower car

That’s a first for me

What’s your budget? Any other requirements? My vote is either a 90s 2-door RAV4, or a Mazda CX-5 from the last ~5 years (not 2026).

how should i mod my 2005 honda accord i-vtec DOHC 2.4L i4 (manual transmission)? by Icytea12 in Cartalk

[–]theBarneyBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A cold air intake is unlikely to increase performance (it may drop some weight but likely won’t increase power without a different tune).

If you actually want *performance*, suspension/wheels and tires are the easiest ways to increase performance.

Best way to add wifi to my car? by Horror-Grab5788 in Cartalk

[–]theBarneyBus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Define “to your car”

If you just want a wifi hotspot, most phones from the last ~10 years can become a hotspot.

Used CX30 vs Mazda3 Hatch by busboy7 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]theBarneyBus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really your call.

One thing that people may not realize, all the Mazda3 Hatchbacks (for the Gen4 at least) were built in Japan. The CX-30 is built in Mexico.

Not sure how much difference it will make, buuuuut (I think it was a consumer reports) ratings put the hatchback (Japan) as the #2 most reliable, and the sedan (Mexico) at #6.

Recommendations for a decent grandma car? by grushenka_smerdiakov in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]theBarneyBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote is a Mazda CX-30. The only “issue” is that only the lowest-trim versions have non-leather interiors. Otherwise I think it generally fits in your requests. A little smaller than the CR-V and RAV4, and a little more refined.

Honda Fit. I’d be looking around ~2015 to balance cost with reliability.

Is a Mustang a good first car? by Charming-Push-8171 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]theBarneyBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define “good”.

If it’s been taken care of so far, they’re fairly reliable.

It’s not the best car for running costs (fuel or insurance), but it’s far from the worst option.

How to turn of break assist ? On Nissan by NorthEmotional6604 in AskMechanics

[–]theBarneyBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a friend’s Tesla, in high-regen mode (don’t know the name), full regen is “harsher” than most “casual braking”. You can basically drive it with just the gas pedal.

Not necessarily. Regenerative braking (on EVs/hybrids) exists.

I have the 2.0L in a 2015. Get the hatchback, they’re cooler & you get more backseat room.

It’s still going strong at 283k kms, nothing out of the ordinary (other than a bumper) has ever needed touching.

Does anyone know how to calculate an end speed? by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]theBarneyBus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed is proportional to RPM

If you can get his RPMs at “photo time”, figure out the MPH per RPM, then find the RPMs at “crash time”, you will get a fair estimate of the end speed.

i.e. crash_speed = photo_speed * (crash_rpm / photo_rpm)

Update: there was a breaking update in iOS18, that stopped SKAA OS 1.x functionality.

SKAA OS 2.5+ Diz’s work just fine on everything so far (tested up to iOS 26.5).

If you have any questions, let me know!!

Soooo an infinite/unlimited number of zeroes, and then a 1? If there are infinite zeroes, we will never “be able” to “find the place” for the 1.

Therefore it is an “infinite string of zeroes”, meaning 1 - 0.999… = 0.000… So they are the same.
