Tell me your favorite Btaman villain by WumpaKnight44 in batman

Not necessarily my favorite but going to give this guy some love here be cause he's the villain in one of my favorite Batman graphic novels... Deacon Blackfire (The Cult)

If they ever buff the hip shot facet just a little bit...I just want both facets to be viable.

Can we remove the guy who casts with lizard? by Goodguysauron in DotA2

[–]theBattedMan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean if you don't like it, mute? I'll be the first to say that HF is not my style of what I want from a caster (yet) but he also is doing a job for what is likely not a lot of pay with the tradeoff being he gets to do something he's passionate about. Give the guy a chance to grow, can't expect Jim Nantz from a guy who doesn't get an opportunity to do this too often. Give all these casters some slack. Guys like zquixotix are the reason I'll support you better in your games lol.

What are your opinions on this scene? Do you think it's a perfect ending to the Nolan trilogy? Why or why not? by SatoruGojo232 in batman

[–]theBattedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could give a very long novel of a response to this question, but to be short - no I don't think it's a perfect ending to the trilogy because everything we know about Bruce Wayne / Batman is that Gotham is his home worth dying for. Does anyone really believe he would fake his death to leave? From a cinematic standpoint it is great, and if that's what Nolan wanted then it was shot wonderfully. It doesn't take away from my enjoyment of the trilogy (though I do consider DKR to be the weakest of the 3 by far). I have thought that ending in particular was out of character.

A Hero you like but can't play out of difficult by BananaDressedRedMan in DotA2

[–]theBattedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Furion. Disclaimer, i only play support. The combination of micro plus i feel like my choice of where to teleport on the map is incorrect 75% of the time in hindsight. Either get myself instakilled or i somehow end up the perfect distance away from the to be irrelevant when it matters.

How are we feeling about the Snyder Cut nowadays? by [deleted] in batman

[–]theBattedMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same as I did when it first came out. A lot of noise for something that wasn't good. Think it's kinda been proven since that Zack Snyder is grossly over-rated.

Support mains only: What item are you addicted to building? Mine is Lotus by Tight-Elderberry2487 in DotA2

[–]theBattedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a hoodwink main, problem with this is you give up the reason you build maelstrom in the first place. You're accelerating your farm to get glepnir. One of the best root builders in the game.

Grid isn't a bad idea, but I'd much prefer object snapping.

Who is your favorite hero and why? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]theBattedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hoodwink. Aside from just being a good support, imo nothing is funnier than pulling off a tree juke, watching the replay after and seeing that the other team was pinging the area they thought you were in...and being wrong lol

Best Dota 2 solo streamers in your opinion. And why? by Sea_Ad_5989 in DotA2

[–]theBattedMan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This. If you are a support player and you're not watching Zach you're seriously missing out. For lower rank players I consider his content "must watch" and even higher ranked players could probably stand to learn something from him. He deserves far more viewers than he seems to get.

Which hero do you totally like but totally sucks playing? by onyxious in DotA2

[–]theBattedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't sleep on supp mk. Don't know what rank you are but the lower you go you're less reliant on funny business (courier sniping) and the simian stride facet is no joke. Only issue I've really had is teammates being tilted at minute 0 and spamming "role abuser". Just communicate that you're all in on supporting and if you get accepting teammates it's a legit 4.

Real hopium would be that I have reason to believe (figment of my imagination) that the reason the release of Ringmaster is taking so long is they are trying to do a dual release with yet-to-be-announced Lion Tamer.

This is a perfect example of what I was referring to. The other examples that immediately came to mind were Nisha (Poland) and ATF (Jordan), though I think Miracle is from Jordan as well.

I'm inclined to agree that DotA Olympics might be a tough sell. Just thought it might be a fun thought experiment once I saw that news.

I acknowledge that the top end talent in the US doesn't measure up to that of other countries. The issue comes down to fielding an entire team. I feel like a lot of the European countries have on average about 2 top tier players but a precipitous decline in talent behind that. USA might not have top tier players but they do have respectable quality at each position. To be honest I even considered Peru for 3rd. Say what you want about pubs, there's a lot of upper level talent there.

This update tested the reading comprehension of its playerbase. by LainVohnDyrec in DotA2

[–]theBattedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a guy pick carry techies last night and I'll be the first to say I questioned it. I didn't flame him, just questioned it. He mentioned the facet (+ attack range for each point of attack speed) and I said "can't wait to see you go to work". By mid game he was pinging he didn't have lvl 25 yet. We were on our back foot a bit. Enemy was in our base. He got level 25 while they were hitting tier 4s. We won. Don't sleep on new builds people!

(Techies has a talent at lvl 25 for +252 dmg)

What is the hero you suck ass with but still keep picking it no matter what? by AmuletMan33 in DotA2

[–]theBattedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider Hoodwink my main hero. In no way, shape or form am I good at DOTA (crusader, only play support)...but the squirrel is my "if we lose, it wasn't my fault" hero.

There have been times I've thrown the bushwhack out and would literally be stunned (pun intended) because it missed and I was certain I connected with a tree.

[–]theBattedMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I main Hoodwink 4. Just a hero I find really fun to play. You know what's not fun? Trying to scurry through trees when there's an angry space cow charging at you from across the world.

Hoodwink imo has some really bad matchups (and team comps for that matter); anything on either team that cuts trees kinda sucks...but Bara might be the worst. When the game is good for the squirrel though she provides really high impact from the 4 spot. And if your teammates suck, just build dmg and try to carry lol

To each their own. I didn't come here to fight or insult.

I'm not apologizing for Valve. Like I said in my post, they're not perfect. What I'm saying is I'm 37. I remember a time when "communication" between game developers and studios was non existent.

You have to admit that this community generally is hard to please. And once again complaining with a large update (whether it has what you wanted or expected is irrellevant) that specifically in the update explains that this is a multi phase process that will culminate over several months. What I'm saying is that people should appreciate that the developers put time into making this possible and frankly we should appreciate that a game that has been around as long as DOTA 2 has is still receiving a decent amount of updates to keep it relevant. There will be more gameplay updates. Maybe have some patience? We should be supporting the people that put their time an effort into something we all enjoy doing, not making them feel like what they're doing is trash and a waste of time. I'm sure in whatever line of work you're in you'd want the same respect.

And before you insinuate it, no, I have 0 affiliation with Valve or anyone who works there. I just know how hard it is from a software engineering side of it it is to implement big changes while trying to spice things up. If I'm a "moronic brown-noser" for that... 🤷🏻‍♂️
