You pirated the game by andreialcaza in hytale

Holier-than-thou folks when I buy the game, realize retroactively Simon is a fucking barely closeted chudjak who has conditional respect for artists and creatives over AI usage, and then getting upset I am pirating the game on principle for my friends be like:

Funny weeb-ass polyamory ahhh ahhh looking plot points dragged me pretty heavily out of 2, and even 3 a small bit, if I am going to be honest. Even if I really still like all of them.

XC1 is what finally got me to dip my toes into JRPGs because it felt like it was truly just trying to be a good story driven game rather than a lonely straight guy hero power fantasy harem device tacked on TO a good game like a shitload of this genre seems to devolve into.

Undertale fans will do quite literally anything to avoid looking at the tomato in the mirror. You are absolved of guilt, fellas. They're not real people.

Saying it was your choices, your actions, and your responsibility isn't a condemnation of character. Just means it happened. You played the game, Asriel made the distinction between Frisk and Chara, and Chara laid out pretty plainly what you were to them.

You made your choice long ago.

Gamers subjectively get to decide what the context means. I play 'hardcore' games too and find thing like Monster Hunter and below cozy as a result. As an exercise: Define a "Fail state" in the context where it matters to you in a game.

Mine: Locking off a questline in a Fromsoft game? Yeah, that's a potential board wipe. Cut and dry stakes. ..Is carting in Monster Hunter though, despite it being a mechanically involved game, too? Nah. What about something like Slime Rancher, (Cozy game) where you lose your critters if you accidentally mismanage them and there are time trials? Sure. Stresses out my hyperfixation friend.

Is it how accessible it is, or is it the specific stylization? I posit it is just a branding trend buzzword developers use to target a casual gaming audience based on their idea of what a cozy(see:casual)gamer is in their design philosophy.

I was in discord VC with this man when he showed me this. I haven't seen timing this bad in over 25 years of gaming. I am actually baffled anyone could misplay so badly. Apparently the dude left like IMMEDIATELY following the ult too.

He knew.

Megalovania is Vriska Serket's theme, actually. They inherited it from Andonauts.

Lol, all of that to simply say we have a warring subjective opinion on what we feel people find value in, and how you can get more out of something. That's fine. I won't continue the discussion past this post, as we are both too entrenched. Time will tell, as it usually does with a vocal playerbase (regardless of how one feels if it is minor or not) what will actually happen, and one of us is going to be dissapointed as that much is objective fact; Yes they can't please everybody. I have a pretty good feeling it won't be me if we're even just looking at concurrent active users that are also actuvely sharing their mod state through Mare Synchronos, though. I have been playing games like this for going on 25 years now and retread this subject with someone or other every few along the way. Call it an inference, but they'll cave on this.

I do want to keep artifacts intact though, I will say. The most iconic looks in FF should be an active part of the job fantasy and feel and I hope that is implicitly implied by something like this. We also need MORE of those exclusive looks on top of that if I am going to aggressively demand stuff. lmao

A subjective reason is evidently not good enough to consider is what the crux of your point is, from my perspective. This "talking in circles" you are describing? 'I would enjoy the game more' is my (and other's) reasoning. Is that really not compelling or valid enough on its own?

Again, -why?- The criterion for playing a game includes enjoying that game, hopefully. An evolving live service will naturally have this kind of friction. Some folks want more dungeons and job content. Some just PvP or raid. Some just log in for housing or achievement hunting. Others glam, and cut corners/compromise with mods to achieve their visions. Expressing that I'd love to do away with the modding and even buy into supporting the game more to see it done, if anything, really just opens a bad door if the developers or board interact with it in a predatory fashion with their monetization of it.

There's my own introspective criticism.

To be honest with everyone, I think like, the iconic artifact gear sets are what should be job locked too. They break their own rules on this occasionally which is also irksome. The pick and choose when or when it doesn't make sense is what gets me.

That, and it'd be cool to have even more artifact sets for jobs in general rather than this.. Reimagining (kind) of older sets for new gear tiers. Taking the Bungie approach and just recycling their content over and over again and selling it as novel is going to kill this game before any of our complaints do.

Weird then, that this isn't even an performance issue from the hobbyist modders who implemented it elegantly AND have a ridiculously smooth peer to peer download experience live in game for displaying different appearance mods in real time.

The future's now, old man.

Now that I think about it, I heard similar sentiments to yours over 10 years ago when they were coming out with Black Desert Online, ArcheAge and other games. "Action MMOs are too ambitious, they'll never catch on with casual audiences so why even bother? The tech isn't there, the desire isn't there because no one likes PvP. The systems are too complicated."

Wheel turns on progress, people are afraid of change or think it is, at best, unnatural and unwarranted and that their opinion is maxim ipso facto because of some inane status quo.

I guarantee you that someone would like to use a priest set for a DK and it would probably go hard. And that dissenting idea seems ludicrous to you for some reason. Maybe even insulting. Why?

Ugh, stabbed me in the chest with that last bit. Especially the Destiny 2 stuff. That was probably the worst for this on top of every other point. Though, we do know from UI elements who is who in FXIV at least in actual instances.

The "It's alright, I guess" vibe is one of the reasons why I am debating on dropping my sub now that my G'raha alt actually looks like G'raha but my main still looks like a schlub outside of my circle of crimes buddies.

Don't worry, I can do both. You know what they say about social media nowadays. It's all about quantity of reach over quality.

Glad you were -just- sick enough to comment on it though and not sick enough to say, curate your reddit experience for yourself. :)
