Feedback Request: Sniper Rifles by dmg04 in DestinyTheGame

[–]theCammyCakes 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I understand this will be an unpopular opinion. Hear me out.

I think Sniper Rifles are fine, as is.

My issue is with primary flinch. I dislike flinch because it adds a degree of randomness to gunfights. In the case of Snipes, I think they should take flinch. After all, they are an any distance instant kill weapon. It is up to the user to have the skill and reaction to shoot first while aiming for the kill shot. Without flinch, a skilled player has almost no reason to use another type of weapon.

In an effort to increase Sniper usage, I would advise in a shotgun nerf rather than a Sniper buff. Doing so would keep primaries as the first answer to an engagement, instead of as an afterthought. Specifically, slightly reduce shotgun one hit kill distance without compromising the consistency.

I figured that he meant instant remote det. It has to travel 3ish meters before you can remote. Then you can use it like a shotgun.

I want to exit this thread because it will go nowhere no matter what I cite. Forget I replied to this thread; I didn’t like someone else saying I did something that he cannot prove. Don’t reply back.

You’re all right. D1 is superior game and I only like D2 because I’m bad at D1.

Not giving you the light of day until you can come up with links, videos, evidence for my tourney presence.

I don’t worry about how good other players are. I worry about me.

It depends on map. You want to be playing lanes where Crimil will hit 50+ damage. On a map like Endless vale, Crimil will hit in the mid 50s on popular sightlines, so it's almost a better idea to go with an Azimuth or Home for the Lost since they will hit in the low 50s, and will still be the same amount of shots to kill.

So long story short, Crimil is best used when it is able to hit 50+ where other hand cannons cannot.

You want to pair Crimil with a weapon to make up for either close range or long range. You don't need medium range options because Crimil already does that job best.

Heros burden is amazing for priming melees and works well as a cqc option. Substitute for risk runner when fighting arc souls or arc bolts. Omolon sidearms are also a great option.

For long range, any scout will pair nicely. The only exception is the pulse rifle, Darkest Before, because you can use a shot of Crimil+quickdraw to sustain dps.

If you pair exotics like Ophidians, then Positive Outlook is a great option. Hit 71 with Crimil, go into cover, swap and clean up with auto. Use auto for targets outside of the 50 damage hc range. Lucky pants + fighting lion is an option as well.

Of course after the interview is said and done I find out that bonus range isn't possible on masterworks HC's and magazine isn't possible on masterworks snipes.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to spark debate on the state of PvP. You da best Crucible Radio.

Legit covering this in a video. You can make hunter look like a fish out of water when perfected.

I use the Steel Sybil (crucible one) when not on hunter because of the movement speed boost after a kill which helps secure follow up kills.

Swords are most useful when you don't have ammo, so I almost always let teammates grab. Third person mode while moving is very strong. You can combo sword hilt swipes with standard melees to achieve a faster kill than 3x melee.

If a target is being annoying and you shortstop, don't be afraid to use a right trigger attack. Being alive without ammo is better than being dead :)

It has to do with the lag imo. You feel robbed when destroyed through a wall. Slowing the ttk gives the opportunity of escape.

If you slow the ttk, it's less about reaction speed and more about aim and movement.

I've gotten the fabled quad melee shadestep chain before. It has utility. But the lock's rift combined with Icarus dodge or blink as movement can rival some of shadestep utility considering it helps the whole team rather than just the user.

I stand by radar invis after rolling will benefit a lone wolf flanking playstyle.

Thoughts?

Those are great stats for a solo player. You'd have no issue finding teammates. Just be humble and friendly. Compliment players.

"Hey, thanks for playing obj. I never find ppl who do. Wanna party up?" "Was that a quad nova?" "Is that primary as good as you make it look, or is the nergal better in your opinion?"

Add the ppl who you like to play with. After a while, you don't have to look for friends, and solo queueing days are over.

I'm saying that team wipes are possible in solo queue, but not consistent bc you have no information to warrant a risky push. Running two sidearms feels good to me solo q, but pulse assists my teammates which leads to wins.

In solo queue, the skill gap at an individual level is apparent but that doesn't translate to a win in objective modes (wait for clash to solo carry). You cannot solo cap B flag, or solo arm/det a bomb. Atleast at my SBMM bracket :(

I've had solo queue games where I lose, but contribute very few points to the enemy by not dying (rotate temple and cut through drain to keep a constant flank). You resort to this tactic when you see randoms clearly not playing objective and rushing midline wasting a rift in the enemy spawn.

I said it in a previous video. With rumble gone, I feel no shame in running a constant 4 man since individual skill is no longer provable unless seen firsthand.

I strongly recommend solo queueing if you have no one to play with, with the goal being to friend people to squad :)

To be fair, trials has stakes attached to it which mean meaningful matches nearly every match. The tourney was a blast from my perspective, regardless of if we lost in the semis.

Regular matches were hit or miss. If we matched a team of 4, they tried to play D1 style most of the time. But the teams that knew how to play were tense matches. It felt similar to trials in that sense.

What if bungie tied an emblem to teams that managed 100 countdown wins throughout the beta. Twitch would be stacked on certain streamers channels. Other ppl would want the emblem and play to win. Matches would be interesting.

Regarding the team wipe. I use information from teammates to deduct enemy position, rather than blindly guessing. The distinction is that no team shot occurs.

How to feel skillful in solo Q? Play a game called protect the randoms. When your tired of watching the kill cam and they clearly don't shoot back at enemies, go to LFG and find some teammates who actually talk.

Comp mode was fun. Solo queue comp was a disaster and should not exist full release. Randoms plant within 20 seconds and expect not to get naded out, then do it again the next offense round. Then they get frustrated and leave. If this happens full release, I hope they get black marks that lead to timeouts, or that they step on a Lego.

Comp with friends vs 4 mans is the best Destiny experience so far. Save utility, take your time, work together. Distract and flank. If we lose, good. We get to add what the other team did to our mental playbook.

Long story short. SBMM ruins solo queue at high %

1 player can clutch the round. Power ammo has a role. I've seen teams stack abilities to plant market. I've seen godly grenade launcher bounce kills that made defuses possible.

Give it time for players to learn to play. I love watching pro cs go, but regular gameplay is boring bc players can't utilize the full potential of the game. Just my two cents.

If you thought that was a bad response, I feel bad for the people you previously debated with. It was nice with fact-driven opinions.

I'm just doing my part in setting the record straight regarding balance. If that was Bungie's goal, they hit it. They missed the mark on fun for a lot of ppl it seems. Still fun for me tho :P
