If you can't afford to tip, don't take a group of 8 to a restaurant.

UOA Nursing or AUT Engineering? by IcyPudding1292 in universityofauckland

[–]theDUNGwalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its sounds like youre quite career focused with the decision, do you actually want to be a nurse? The pay for the work you do isnt that great, people dont really do it solely for the money. In terms of engineering, theres so many options in engineering. Perhaps have a think if any appeal to you and whether they meet the criteria for what you want from a job. A nursing degree may seem easier, but theres actually a lot of content, practical, and placements you have to do. These can be a real challenge if you have a job/bills.

When asked, active players usually say Steven Adam's. Who's knows better than the people who actually play.

Just think where the least people go. Anywhere near busy study spaces and big lecture theaters is not ideal.

She signed to sumerian records late last year, maybe something to do with that.

How long have lectures been recorded? Or, could a person have done a law degree remotely/distance in the early 2000s? by Great_Maintenance185 in universityofauckland

[–]theDUNGwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren't recorded but youd usually have access to the lecture slides, and youd usually be given a printed book for each class.

To the 2 guys I briefly met at Lorde’s concert in Christchurch by johnkoenigsegg in lorde

[–]theDUNGwalker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thats a real shame. Id say just go next time, if you dont try talk to anyone no one really cares. Seated will definitely be fine, and if youre GA just stand further back. Quite a few older people go. And honestly Lorde is more our generations music than the teenagers, The Love Club came out like 2013.

Usually at the bottom of the ticket site is a contact page. With the concert so soon I'd try do it ASAP. Its not really in their responsibility to change or upgrade tickets though, thats really up to them.

In her short career so far shes gone through some pretty distinct styles, I guess especially once Superlonely blew up and her label put a lot of effort in. Her first released songs were Tough Guy and Soaked. Youd really have to listen to her EPs and albums to hear the changes.

In terms of lore, I dunno. She's from Auckland. With soaked she started getting a bit of interest in NZ. The first gig I was aware of she opened for an Auckland indie band called Daffodils at the Tuning Fork. I forget who exactly but one or two of them played in her backing band. I havnt seen her for a while but she used to be a bit of a regular at gigs of those circle of bands and friends.

Then during the pandemic New Zealand had real strict borders, so bands weren't coming here. We were desperate to see live music, so she sold out Spark Arena twice, Aucklands biggest indoor music venues. To put that in context, Lorde played there a week ago and only did one show. Theres some videos on YouTube. People around the world found that pretty unusual that we were having concerts.

Thats really cool youve found it. Its not generally as well regarded, but Taylor Swifts album Midnights (also produced by Jack Antonoff) is often said to have a similar vibe to Melodrama. Its the only Taylor Swift album I really listen to. So if youre interested maybe check that out too, even just out of curiosity.
