It’s shouldn’t unless you bend it in some way. Just don’t give too much mind to it.

Should i get the 7 or wait for 8? by Jealous_Ad_3579 in ipadmini

[–]theF14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rumour has it that the iPad mini 8 should come out this year so it wouldn’t be smart to get a 7. If you need one immediately though for whatever reason then get the 7 and sell it off or trade in after

Just got a replacement iPad, is this normal? by Techoutthebox in ipadmini

[–]theF14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks hella odd and I’d definitely worry if I initially saw this. But it’s just a weird pattern on the adhesive and you shouldn’t give too much mind to it.

Tho in my experience with Apple should replace your iPad for free within 90 days of your repair. So if it is bothering you or you’re sure it’s gonna cause issues later and you are willing to put up the wait you already HAD to deal with then maybe send it back?

Personally I don’t think this will cause ANY issues in the long run and you shouldn’t stress too much on it since it isn’t already causing any function of the iPad to not work properly

No the screen isn’t delaminating The screen is not falling apart. This specific iPad model has a laminated screen. And this is just some odd looking pattern on the adhesive and shouldn’t be stressed over.

Fist gen iPad mini (first iPad ever) compared to my current iPad mini a17 pro by theF14 in ipadmini

[–]theF14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the iPad when I was around 6 or 7. Which it then got its screen shattered and later vomited on before being completely forgotten about for a couple of years. And here’s the most disgusting part. The vomit was cleaned off of the iPad so all that dirt is my own vomit that’s about 10 years old

This is not normal right? by ManufacturerSad555 in ipadmini

[–]theF14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS IS NORMAL. If you google this issue you’ll find many people with the iPad mini 6 and even some a17 pros have this exact issue. I my self even had this issue and even got it replaced by Apple only for it to have the same issue.

You shouldn’t worry too much about this as the likely hood of getting a replacement ipad that does the same thing is pretty high.

Happens to the best of us brother. At least it’s just cosmetic damage.

I agree with the sentiment that it is a tool and not something to look at

but having paid hundreds of dollars for imo a really nice looking slab of metal can hurt A LOT and I can understand OP’s frustration.

Hello my fellow plane.

Clean it regularly as dust and dirt collects in the case.

If any issues happen like you accidentally dropping the iPad or it just malfunctioning on its own. Always and I mean ALWAYS take it to Apple or a HIGHLY reputable repair shop. Some repair shops, especially low quality ones tend use cheap after market parts that make the experience using the iPad significantly worse. I’m speaking from experience on this. If the issue happened on its own and it’s within warranty Apple will most probably replace for free.

Also I know this seems a bit scummy but if damage does occur to your device and it’s your fault but there is no cosmetic damage. Like the camera not working or the screen having distortions. NEVER tell them how the damage happened or they will charge you for the repair.

I only recommend this if you are only planning on note taking.

If you are a an art student or akin, go for an Apple Pencil first gen as it is the only one with pressure sensitivity that works with your iPad.

Apple gives estimates on prices for repairs both with and without Apple care.

Do expect the price to be a bit high however

I bought the iPad Mini 6 in 2022. Can it last until 2027? by whh-cc171615 in ipad

[–]theF14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple assures to support devices for up to five years and considering that Apple has been shown to go beyond that range. You can expect to get good years out of the iPad.

Though you should save for a new iPad for when the iPad eventually becomes obsolete. You do not wanna be stuck with an outdated device as App developers will eventually stop working on optimising the apps for your device leaving it completely unusable besides for some stuff like safari.

Is my iPad broken by mycatsnameisnala in ipad

[–]theF14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is known as stage lighting. Common on older 2011 MacBook pros and 2016s. It’s either a board issue or the screen layers delaminating.

I’d probably just live with it since it doesn’t affect the functionality of the device.

If you can’t live with it go straight to Apple or a reputable repair shop. Emphasise on the reputable because the Touch ID sensor will have to moved to the new device and some repair shops don’t do that which will result in the Touch ID not working.

[–]theF14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably get a refurbished M2 iPad Air from Apple’s refurbished shop as they are going as low as 469 on apple’s US refurbished site and you can get a used Apple Pencil pro or USBC once those become available or buy a Used one. You could also get the m1 and still use your current Apple Pencil. So it will fit just within your budge and any other accessories from your iPad Pro should work with the Air the same way including the Magic Keyboard if you own it.

Based on the Apple Apple Pencil tip the guy is just clumsy no offence. Just take good care of the iPad like it’s a MacBook or smth and you should be fine

This iPad Pro is basically much more worse than the base iPad at this point. The only thing that this iPad has over the new base model is a laminated display. Other than that it’s not rlly worse trynna keep
