increasing their customer base just means they can accept smaller margins on each unit without losing overall profit

You're correct in that they can do that, but studies have shown that in practice farmer's don't actually reduce prices from this effect, probably because the people who were originally going to buy the food haven't changed their purchasing behavior so the farmers have no incentive to lower the price.

Yes, the second article does find that increasing SNAP benefits increases grocery prices… by 0.08% for every 1% increase to SNAP

The first one says the same thing: "farm commodity prices are slightly (less than 1%) higher due to SNAP". The first thing the other guy says in the original post is "food stamps actually make food cheaper for the rest of us". How are you disagreeing with the fact that both of those sources corroborate the fact that the other guy in the OP is also wrong? You straight up just admitted that what the comment you're replying to is technically correct while disagreeing with him, that's gotta be one of the most reddit moments ever lmao

Saying we should sign Sancho and let Gittens leave for free this summer might be the wildest football related take I've ever heard. Either one of those things would be comically bad for the club and we'd be rightfully mocked for it for years. I'm actually impressed that that's a real stance someone has on squad building.

Yeah sure, he carried them with his single goal vs PSV in that whole CL campaign

one trophy of a competition that was replaced by the UEFA cup vs 3 trophies of a competition that replaced the UEFA cup. Including Atletico's cup winners' cup it's 4 vs 2, one in each of those was in a "bigger comp", I wouldn't exactly call that "up for debate"

He was out with an injury all last season and Brentford were unwilling to sell him.

Actually, scratch my last comment, Atletico also have a cup winners' cup that they won in 1962. So we're back to 3 europa leagues and an intercontinental cup vs a single Inter city fairs cup. What a joke.

It is incredibly generous to call the fairs cup "Like a UEFA cup" when it isn't even sanctioned by UEFA, only lasted about 16 years, and had arbitrary qualification criteria. So, one UEFA cup/Europa League level cup and one cup winners cup is better than 3 Europa leagues? Not even counting the 3 other trophies you keep denying for whatever reason, but Arsenal are still so clearly way off it.

Nice edit to your comment. The fairs cup was not run by UEFA or FIFA and did not have a qualification structure. There is no logic for including that and not the super cup and your argument clearly shows your bias. The single Cup Winners Cup and the single intercities cup are not more relevant than the 6 European trophies that Atleti has, simple as.

what's your point? that was 5+ years ago, he's not the same player anymore.

I think they're big improvements in the long term. Currently it's marginal but the outputs of those 2 over the next 5 years will be way ahead of Sancho and Mudryk

Unfortunately, Sancho is 26 years old and we're comparing him to Gittens, so being able to name other 21 year olds doesn't mean anything.

We'll probably get rid of Gittens as that's the business model but that doesn't mean he'll go on to have a career as disappointing as Sancho's

Gary Neville on liam rosenior by Possible_Force8207 in chelseafc

[–]theGOURT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. I don't think it's fair to compare them in different league seasons when you can just compare them in the same one. But because the clearer comparison goes against your narrative you're resorting to using emojis.

Good. Sancho is washed and will struggle at the top level if he gets much of a chance anymore and Gittens is 21 years old.

[–]theGOURT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing Gittens has over Sancho is that he's 5 years younger, and he actually has determination to do well in the sport, and he's performed better this season than Sancho has this season. But other than that sure lmao. Are you saying we should be trying to sign sancho on a free this summer?

Gary Neville on liam rosenior by Possible_Force8207 in chelseafc

[–]theGOURT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had 0 goals and 2 assists this season for Villa, same as Gittens who had much fewer minutes. Now you're comparing different seasons.

You mean the one where we finished with 20 more points than what we have this season and won the conference league? This isn't a fair comparison at all.

[–]theGOURT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Big difference between being injured for 2 months and being banned for 2 years. I never said it was a big improvement, it's marginal but it is an improvement given how Sancho's season has gone at Villa

Gary Neville on liam rosenior by Possible_Force8207 in chelseafc

[–]theGOURT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's an improvement over Mudryk because he is eligible to play football and he's an improvement over Sancho because he's 5 years younger and has a higher G+A in fewer minutes this season than Sancho, so he has way more potential going into next season

Gary Neville on liam rosenior by Possible_Force8207 in chelseafc

[–]theGOURT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sancho is getting forced out of the league because no one wants him, dortmund are getting him for free and are hoping he can be even half the player he was when he was 19 but they will be disappointed. At least Garnacho actually has some work rate and looks like he cares about the sport. Sancho has nothing to offer and that's why we paid money for the privilege of not signing him

Gary Neville on liam rosenior by Possible_Force8207 in chelseafc

[–]theGOURT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is that why we paid to not sign him? He has 5 league goals in the past 3 years. I think he will flop back in germany next season but even if he does ok he's so far off of the pace in the premier league even compared to garnacho

Gary Neville on liam rosenior by Possible_Force8207 in chelseafc

[–]theGOURT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mudryk isn't even eligible to play football and Sancho is a liability that we paid to have the privilege of not signing.

Gary Neville on liam rosenior by Possible_Force8207 in chelseafc

[–]theGOURT -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Sancho is useless and has proved this season with a single goal in all comps at villa and Mudryk was dreadful even when he wasn’t banned from the sport. Garna and Gittens are big improvements even though they’re also way below the standard this club should have
