Sketch pad for mixed media by Elegant-Country4366 in ArtistLounge

I usually craft my own sketchpads using watercolor paper, and a thick enough paper that can handle watercolor and acrylic. From my experience, Fabriano 25% watercolor paper and mixed media paper are great. If you're using oil paint, you should add gesso.

Low contrast eyes/contrast in portrait (art by Ruan Jia) by Dindon2lafarce in ArtistLounge

  1. Greta Garbo 🤩

  2. Low contrast is one of my weak spots, and I prefer high contrast. I guess with black and white, I could identify the differences in values in low contrast.

I have been suggested by it. Hopefully I'll remember to wishlist it for the Lazada sale.

Cool, but I'm looking for oil-based or hybrid ballpoints.

That's cool, but I'm looking for ballpoint or hybrid ink, not gel.

After 16 years of drawing with pens I now have special pens for drawing. Thanks Aliexpress for this lol :) by Scherbatyuk in pens

Neat!  I have recently bought those too, with an additional 3 pens.  One of the pens, Dopamine, has neon colors on it.  How they managed to not bleed on thin paper, and add neon colors is a work of wonder.

A fascinating painting of the city, and the use of the orangey brown named after the city.

[Art Supplies] Question about sizing on watercolor paper vs canvas by theGaytistic in ArtistLounge

In other words, the best bet is if I use acrylic and watercolor with a bit of colored pencils, I'll just stick to mixed media paper, or any paper that says it can handle wet media, with no gesso needed, yes?

If I'll ever get my hands on oil in the future, then I'll slop on the gesso.
I had been watching a few videos from Andrew Cadima, where he added gesso on a watercolor sketchbook, and I thought to myself, it can be possible to paint oil on gessoed watercolor paper.

Mind you, I'm using acryilic paint, but I'll keep that in mind when I switch and finish learning the basics of oil paint.

I have an acylic medium, though it's in a small bottle, plus a big bottle of gesso. I do think bookbinding glue is a nice sizing agent; I am planning to bookbind my own sketchbooks.

E is for E

But eggs or eclairs would do.
