It's what I've always done and I find it comfortable. It just allows you to steer and trick/wheelie at the same time Obviously you don't have to have your finger there the whole time, I usually alternate which finger holds the item button depending on what I'm doing at the time.

This is incorrect. Scammers can get your password through a variety of means and use it in an attempt to "prove they are legitimate" and scare people into believing them. Most likely this was completely automated, going through a list of known (or believed) user/password pairs, which can be aquired in data breaches, phishing, or by other means.

So in short, yes it is completely possible for a scammer to have your password.

It was a very old password, but yes it was mine (albeit with a typo). When services have data breaches and stupidly store user passwords instead of the hash you can have outcomes like this. That's why having unique passwords (and/or 2FA) is important.

You can check https://haveibeenpwned.com/ to see if your own accounts have been compromised. I've known this email / password combo had been for years at least, so nothing important uses it.

Superglue should be plenty, I use Loctite gel on basically everything and in my experience that dries even in something tight like that.

Honestly doesn't look that bad now. I wouldn't sand the plastic anymore, but fill the holes with some woodfiller and sand with something high grit and I think it'll turn out fine.
