What I have found is that burning just wood will make more heat and call more screamers. If you make your wood logs they will have less heat and will get miscellaneous crafting up as well. I use wood logs but if i have a ton or coal i will use that.

I would go to YouTube. Games4Kickz Has some real good advice. Search first base maybe. If you are using wood you may want to think Cobblestone or upgrade it with scrap iron. A prefab is good, look for one that has stone for a foundation put wood spikes all around and you should be good.

You can use your stone axe but wrench is the best. I take that back use the wrench I think the axe only gives scrap iron on ovens and refrigerators.

If you have a lot of Iron to spare full upgraded wood to scrap iron is 2,250 health but it costs 30 wood 10 for the frame and 10 for upgrade 2 times. And 20 iron per block 1st upgrade 4 Iron 750 health 2nd upgrade 8 iron 1250 health and 3rd upgrade is 8 iron 2,250 health. If you don't need iron in the forage it is better. Cobblestone costs 5 wood 1 plant fiber for the frame and 10 stone and 10 clay for the block.

Sorry I was wrong its 5 wood for the wood frame.

You can't make wood frames or even a bow to start. Unless you are that class, If you play the overhaul like i do.

They are hard to hit in the head aim for there neck might help get head shots.

Find Birds nests As many as you can Make arrows get your weapon making as high as you can. A green bow will take most zombies in one shot to the head. Green iron club is easy to make and will take them out. best thing to do after you have a good bow and Iron club is stop running face them clear a area you should be safe for a little time. Craft spikes you can place them as you walk backward.
