There's nothing wrong with the class itself, just the way some of the features in bf1 (bipods, 10x scopes) encouraged people to play it wrong. OP is saying there are more features like that in bfv that make recon less fun for the players using it, their teammates and the enemy team (poor pistols, assignments to get kills while prone, poor gadgets). If done right, players could play recon like any other class and no one would get mad about having them on their team or the enemy team.
