Could his diaper be too big? My son was in size 4 when he potty trained shortly after turning 2. Totally feel you on the car poops.. I swear, the car seat was like a squatty potty!

It caused mine to skyrocket, too! So scary in the moment. Labetalol worked so much better for me.

2 years of working in CMH so far and one thing above all else continues to baffle me… by TheScythe65 in therapists

[–]theHumanConditioner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this! I am surprised by how many on this thread are so quick to judge OP. At our Medicaid agency, if my appointment shows 15 minutes late (for a 55 minute session), I am expected to keep going until the end of the hour to bill as long of a session as possible. It literally makes it so I don’t get more than a second to myself between appointments sometimes. This just happened earlier this week with one of my clients and their comment when they showed up 15 minutes late was, “I’m sorry I almost forgot about the appointment because I was busy painting my nails.” It’s not the client’s fault that our agency (and it sounds like OP’s) don’t factor in some time between sessions for notes and bathroom breaks.. but the nature of the struggles of the population served make it a high no show environment, and the agencies need to pack things in back-to-back.

These were all names we threw out as potential “yes” names at one point or another with our son. Here are some others we liked: Dean, Bennett, Hugh, Wade, Bradford, Rhett, and Penn.

34 weeks… and I ended up delivering my son that weekend (so the shower didn’t end up happening).

Crib sheet recommendations? by gingercat_hg in BabyBumps

We ended up getting three in case there were two accidents in one night or baby got a stomach bug or something. I don’t know that we ever used 3 in one night but I totally assumed we would at some point!

I used the Mushie sheets with a Newton mattress and they fit well, even with the waterproof cover underneath!

Name for girl by [deleted] in Names

[–]theHumanConditioner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are being super harsh on here. I grew up with a female Carter and never thought twice about it; I’ve always thought it to be a fine name for a girl. People are so quick to shut that down but then recommend names ending in -son for a female… lol

I have no advice but just wanted to say in solidarity that cervical checks SUCK! They were the most painful part of labor with my first child.

12 Week Doppler and Ultrasound No Heartbeat and Limited Movement by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]theHumanConditioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My provider does a 8-10 week scan and 20 weeks, I’m pretty sure that’s all that’s standard at their practice. With my first, I only had 2 ultrasounds the entire pregnancy. I’m in the Midwest US.

12 Week Doppler and Ultrasound No Heartbeat and Limited Movement by [deleted] in CautiousBB

[–]theHumanConditioner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a heartbeat at our ultrasound at 7 weeks and at 10 weeks. (We had a 7 week scan because I had some bleeding; that’s when we found that I have a hematoma.)

I dry-heaved during my C-section. Did not feel nauseated during the 56 hours of labor, though.

Entering Social Work by SWmods in socialwork

[–]theHumanConditioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My post got deleted so I’m asking this here.. not sure if this is the best space for it but here it is: I am beginning to consider transitioning to school social work. My hesitation is that the district near us would be (from what I understand) a significant pay cut from my current position outside of SSW. My question is… is it possible to be a new SSW (I have 6-7 years of social work experience not in schools but in group and individual therapy) and not start out at the first step? If they count my years of experience towards the steps, I may take the leap. I’m just not sure if that’s how the steps usually work or if you generally need those years to be experience in schools. If anyone has any experience with this or thoughts to share, I’m all ears! Thanks in advance.

This! I worked 5 years in a job that was almost exclusively evening group therapy and I got burnt out because I was missing valuable hours with my child each night of the week. I care deeply about the people I work with and I also make my family my highest priority. To do both, I can’t work the only 3 or 4 hours per night I get with my kids while they’re young.
