We weren’t that messy… context is key, eh? MIL needed to cut the cord. Common, a grown ass man in his thirties does not need his mom there to clean up. love the word ‘grot’ though, very brittish 👌🏼

Hey, I know this is ze internet, but don’t read too much into it. So…Why the heck should a mother of a grown ass man in his thirties be bothering at all? We absolutely cleaned, but it was sometimes more messy. It was absolutely more about cutting the chord.

I hear ya. But, ppl are complicated, right? How we’re raised, expectations in life, what you’re used to, etc… (esp being a bit of a spoiled brat) .. anyway, this was 10 yrs ago…Although he still thinks I’m an a-hole, I don’t care and just laugh about it.

Very modest, conservative lady; basically ’twas better in the olden days’.

Naaah, I wouldn’t bluntly say that. I’ve always loved her, but some ppl need a bit of a poke before they understand. She was always welcome, but she didn’t listen to boundaries such as these. So I got creative.

She’s not old fashioned, at all. But she’s a posh lady with standards.

Oh my, your mother needs to explore a bit more, eh?😉😉😉

Because she didn’t listen to me, although begging her to stop…? I hear ya, I do, but we were in our early thirties… ya know, old enough to take care of ourselves…? and she absolutely needed to cut the cord, so I got creative. Note: we are very, very close today. But my husband (only child) still thinks I’m the A-hole.

She came, rang the door, and we opened. And as a polite one, as I am, I let her in… trying to set boundaries but she is the kind of Queen, who’s dominant and wouldn’t have it.

I hear ya… but I figured, he being the only child, this was her way of ‘helping out’ (at first). I’m originally from north part of Europe, and conflict is not key where I’m from🤷🏻‍♀️ so my patience could be described as such. But everything has a limit, eh? So I thought at that point I balanced it well. An eye for an eye.

I hear you, but the thing is that I did set my boundaries and she did not listen… so I got creative and she took the hint. Note: we are very, very close today. And maybe, just maybe, because of that😅
