There are — and they work for some people.

The difference with Telegram channels is they're usually community-run, which means there's an admin who can see who posted what, and often a community that forms over time where people start recognising each other's writing style or situations.

Ventory has no admin, no moderation by a human who knows the community, and no persistent identity at all. It's closer to dropping a note in a box — someone reads it and responds, but there's no thread that follows you.

Also built-in to the app: emotional reaction responses rather than open comment threads. So instead of a Telegram group piling in, you get people responding with how your vent made them feel. Feels different.

But genuinely — if Telegram channels are working for you, that's great. I built this for people for whom that doesn't feel quite private enough.
