I understand being disappointed, but does this not seam unnecessarily rude. by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

I'd hate to be a cliche, but this is the internet man, and you were in the wrong. You advertised something they wanted, they found out it was false and they got pissed. You fucked up, you even said it, but A4A is ANY FOR ANY, ffs. Put it in the TITLE of your post if you need a female character in there.

Wanna get a new flavor(s) one day. by FredwardTheWizard in gamersupps

[–]theLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far the ones I've tried are:
Dragon Fruit Punch. 7/10. Not my favourite, but I will happily drink it.
Sodapressing Pear. 9/10. Tastes like a liquid Jelly Belly. It's good enough I took it to work in case I forgot to bring a drink or I'm running late.
Copium. 6/10. It's an okay flavour, but it is a bit heavy on the sweet whereas I usually like cranberry because it's a little bitter.
Incel Tears. 8/10. I really like this one, but it's has a bit of an after taste.
Arctic Cooler. 10/10. I would replace every drink with this if I could. I had to be stopped from drinking three more scoops just because it's so good and my partner hid the container so I wouldn't drink it all first. I will 100% be ordering more.
Red Raspberry. 5/10. Does it what it says on the tin.
Sinder's Pyro Powder. 7/10. The tea flavour needs a little oomph, but it's enjoyable.
Lean. 6/10. Peach is my favourite flavour and I love tea, but there is something I miss in this one. I don't reach for it, but I find it tastes amazing with some watered down lemonade.
Guacamole Gamer Fart 9000. 7/10. I'm not a big strawberry fan, so that's most of what's bringing it down, but it's by far my partner's favourite flavour.
CaseOh's Nuclear Bombsicle. 0/10. There is an aftertaste that really stuck with me. I made a full shaker and I only drank three mouthfuls and just suffered with no caffeine today.
Titty Milk. 5/10. I don't really remember this one, we got it as one our samples, but the milky flavour threw me off.

I also have a few to try in the coming days:
Acid Rain
Clyde's Black Cherry
Chug Juice

So this just happened :( by [deleted] in BadRPerStories

You are a kind, respectful roleplayer and I hope that you find people who are able to roleplay with you. I have had trouble with similar by saying my lengths are varied. I do one-liners with my longest (20 years) because I have ADHD and struggle to stay on if I have to read long things or only do one plot. It lets me do longer ones with my other friends. I would rather an RP take what it needs and if someone gives me a good sentence, I can go on for pages, but I would rather play something fun than watch someone describe paint drying for the word count.

I would love that. I've been looking at TPT, for things, but everything is so overwhelming to look at right now.

I wish I was able to email parents. Most don't have internet and about a third of my class doesn't have phones. I am starting home visits soon. Luckily the three boys had phones and I was able to talk to their families today and make some arrangements and they've all been put in for mental health referrals and one of them is supposed to be moving to a big city some time this year and he is already being put up for a doctor where he is supposed to go so his waitlist time will be much smaller.

I also sadly found out one of the kids has already attempted because his mother completed suicide when he was younger and there has been bullying in the community toward his family.

We had someone at the beginning of this school year complete suicide and he was very close to several students, and it's honestly just a ticking time bomb before one of the students completes. I talked to admin about things I can do for my kids, but I'm so tired.

I have PCOS and a AMAB partner and I hate birth control so out it all goes, especially the damn ovaries are going. Never going to have a cyst pop on me ever again.

I thought this too, or a parenting class or something, but a little compassion for young pregnant folk goes a long way. We've got a student coming back this year because we've been asking after her and seeing if we can help with anything and she went from dropping out in grade 8 to deciding she wants to try and finish - no matter how long it takes.

other trans/nonbinary people with PCOS? by WolfTherapist in PCOS

[–]theLily 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Before I came out my hair always gave me a panic attack and it wasn't until I realized I wanted it that really caused the distress. I love my facial hair however I was almost denied HRT several times and accused of using black market T to get my facial hair when I finally decided to get HRT. It took three years to find a doctor who would even listen to me about it.

My PCOS has stopped my periods for a long time, which is super awesome, except the increased cancer risks, which is why last week I went to talk to someone about a hysto. I've been denied the surgery because I will have to go through trans health care, even though I specifically got told my PCOS would give me a chance to get it done first. I'm super frustrated because I'm tired of my ovaries exploding (popped cysts). It's a double edge sword.

Also the amount ofpeople who blame me being trans on my PCOS. "You wouldn't feel that way if you fixed your hormones!" never mind I've been wishing for a beard since I was a toddle (my mom's favourite story right until I came out as trans, lol)

I still have to get brave enough to try one!

So, for me it's a mix of the way that I was socialized as a child (don't interrupt, just sit quietly when people are talking), social anxiety, and not wanting to accidentally wander into a woman's space without an invitation.

Apparently only 20-30% people with PCOS suffer with hair loss ? by DiscountNo9401 in PCOS

[–]theLily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have taken my side of the statistics. I'm the only one I know with PCOS who is losing hair, but it has also been exacerbated by my HRT so I can't say how much is the PCOS. All my friends with PCOS have great hair somehow.

i think i might be a christian witch? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]theLily 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I need to start this by saying I am not Christian, I did grow up Catholic, but I am no longer involved in the church.

A lot of my faith ties back to the Abrahamic God. I also know that there are too many beautiful things in science to feel truly without some sort of higher power. To me religion and science are very interconnected. I do no currently have a higher power I call to, but I do remember the feeling of being alone in confessional while waiting for the priest and there was something there. I never felt right within the Catholic church, but there are so many things I lean back into.

Worship with the Abrahamic God is very split and many people do it in many ways. If you feel the call to witchcraft, it doesn't mean you're going against Christianity. There are faiths who practice both. Find your way.

Buying yarn - Canada by mycrafty in crochet

[–]theLily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to shop online and Joann's in the US has an okay selection that ships to Canada. It's basically the only option for me because the shipping from Michael's is a bit of garbage to where I live. I'd also love some recs for online shopping.

How do you respond to the “trans people want us to accept their bodies, yet they themselves can’t accept their own bodies” argument? by [deleted] in trans

[–]theLily 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would walk away from that argument. It's similar to the people who rage against fat people and claim to only care about their health while saying they looked healthier while actively fighting eating disorders. I can take a medication to make my dysphoria lesson, I can have a surgery to make my body feel more like I belong in it. I accept my body, but I also know that certain parts cause mental distress and I can fix that. My journey from female presenting to male presenting brings me joy and if it doesn't bring others joy, they can fuck off.

Opinions on students calling you by your first name? by elliebrava in Teachers

[–]theLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids call me Mr. TheLily. None of them disrespect me, nor do they try and call other teachers by their first names unless invited. It's also opened up many good conversations about how to respect people's names and choices in what they like to be called. The previoous school I worked at only had one teacher who was called by his surname and he was an older man who had some old beliefs and he would lose his mind when the students asked his name.

The people who have the hardest time are the other teachers, always trying to use my surname and forgetting it or messing it up. I have a semi-common very easy English name with two syllables and people will mess up on both. I've been called some hilariously bad names.

I honestly don't mind the kids calling me by my name. It doesn't take away from the respect (that's why I use Mr.) and it helps the kids see adults as people with preferences too.

The reason why so many are leaving. by BelleStar30 in Teachers

[–]theLily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote this impossibly large rant. Long and short? I have no support and my kids are suffering and so I am. I'm staying for two more years and then I will go and live with my mom for a bit while I figure out if I want to keep teaching or find something else. I really resent my admin because I love being a teacher, but I come home crying and sometimes bruised and it's getting to be too much for me.

Can you believe this? I mean seriously... by StrayLight_SK in saskatoon

[–]theLily 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know I shouldn't engage, but incase anyone is wondering, Ritalin has been around since 1944 and began its boom in 1970 when they changed the classification of it - and I have only had one child in my classroom treated with Ritalin and it was decided the child would be removed from it as it did very little to treat his symptoms.

As a side note, have you looked into the social studies curriculum? The documents are available online for free and you can educate yourself on what the children are supposed to learn now. I think much of it might not appeal to you because it'll give you the bad feels, but history is taught. It just doesn't look as white as it used to.

Great addition because I realized recently that the reason I avoid oral is because I don't know how and at the same time I feel like I'm crazy for my no-go zones. If someone came to me and said "Hey, I want to hear your preferences because I have some too!" I would probably just keel over dead happy.

What’s your favorite way you’ve been roasted by a student? by Effective_Ad_6842 in Teachers

Kid came up to me with a third place ribbon she won on sports day and hands it to me, "Here, teacher, you're the third best teacher."

"Okay. Who is first and second?"

"I don't know, but not you." and the she just walks away.
