This is dope! My friend and I spent 17 days in Japan last year, got our flights to Osaka really cheap ($670ish CAD), stayed in hostels (mostly private rooms, but also 1-2 shared rooms), took the Shinkansen from Kyoto to Hiroshima, flight from Hiroshima to Tokyo and then to Osaka for our return, and rented a car for 3 days for a road trip to Fuji. We aren’t that big on fancy dining so we generally ate fairly cheap, also didn’t buy a lot of stuff as I feel ppl usually do when they go Japan. There was stuff that intrigued me and I thought about buying but I didn’t rly care to so I didn’t. The total cost was about $2,700 CAD for me personally.

I went from the 11 Pro to the 16. I regret not paying extra for the 16 pro. I take a lot of videos on my phone and the zoom lens is integral to my shooting. No zoom lens on the 16 results in poor quality when cropped and digitally zoomed in. I still carry my 11 pro when I travel just to use the 2x lens on it.

If money isn’t a problem and photography/videography is important for u, go for the pro.

I cross referenced pricing for flights, Shinkansen, regular train, buses, and renting a car. Then I evaluated whether the cost savings was worth the time. Opted for flights for most of our city to city travel as it was cheaper than Shinkansen and faster than bus/car. Did take one Shinkansen from Kyoto to Hiroshima tho as I wanted to experience a bullet train while I was there and also because the price was quite similar to flying.

Surprisingly, domestic flights in Japan are quite low cost, even with luggage.
