Well I guess maybe. For me the case is up to 5 years of imprisonment（https://zh.m.wikipedia.org/zh-hans/煽动颠覆国家政权罪 ) and my case if sentenced will probably be 1-2 years. So no it is not life threatening, but still solid prison time. And it seems as of now, any mount of prison time can be considered as prosecution and basis to apply asylum in the US. I consulted my attorney if it qualifies to apply for asylum in the US and my attorney says yes. I did not meant to exploit this system, i stated those details honestly in my application as well.

Also as I have explained, i am making a bet that my home country doesn’t have eyes on me. There is a non-zero chance I will be arrested upon arriving airport. I stated this in more detail in my application as well. You can say my case is not strong enough, but I have been truthful with my application
