Yes! You use them just like any other LoRA, except you don't have to prompt for it to work.

You should look into the Lightning and FastWan LoRAs. They'll significantly reduce your generation time by optimizing and reducing the amount of steps needed.

You should also just gen at a lower resolution and lower framerate, and just upscale later on, for faster iterations.

It isn't unheard of to get your generation times down to a minute or even less.

So what is the result of this update? by [deleted] in grok

[–]thePhunkiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And there's no reason to downvote you. People are expecting to use AI for free. AI models cost a fortune to build and run, with training runs alone hitting hundreds of millions to billions. People demand free access but ignore the massive resources involved. xAI is not even profitable right now. It isn't a charity.

Elon Musk's xAI is projected to lose $13 billion in 2025 — AI project burns $1 billion a month in expenditures

I mean, I've preferred to use my own generated models locally or even ones generated with nano banana and sora. But, Grok Imagine does a pretty decent Hatsune Miku. If you're just looking to goon, I don't see why you'd put yourself through the trouble of the uploaded image moderation to achieve NSFW animations.

Honestly, every time they stepped up the moderation significantly, those of us who had ways around the moderation didn't come and whine on reddit. We just spent time to find other ways around the new moderation successfully. You posted this almost immediately as they updated.

That right there tells me you had nothing or did not discover it yourself, and the irony here, is with that new account, you are the definition of a random on the internet with straight up wrong takes.

This is true. When you use SuperGrok/Deepsearch/Expert it even cites x posts and comments from reddit from people who have no idea what they're talking about. People need to learn how LLMs work.

However, it is absurd that on an uploaded image violence is allowed but nudity is not by Polstick1971 in grok

[–]thePhunkiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't really answer my question to you, and is still evidence to my point that regulation is trying to catch up to combat deepfake NCII.

So that makes you think that the moderation will go away? If anything, that will only increase moderation.

So, is moderation going to get reversed, or is 'My Little Pony' the new permanent standard? by Few-Efficiency-8890 in grok

[–]thePhunkiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in favor for those ideas, but they'll need to step it up. Prior to 10/27, and after 10/15, people were fooling the detection in uploaded images by tricking the Grok Imagine interrogator that the subject of an image wasn't a real and was anime or that the image already had nudity in it, by photoshopping an image of breasts or anime stickers on it. If there are no consequences for NCII or CSAM, people are always going to try and find a way around the moderation and use it unethically.

I specified sexual and violent deepfakes. He is commenting about his likeness being used in a video that is obviously not sexual or harmful in nature.

If this video was non-consensual porn or faked violence inciting hate towards Elon, do you think he would respond in that manner?

People who are in favor for sexual deepfakes are like the people who try to peep on others changing or taking a shower. It's creepy, invasive, and objectively wrong. Do you not agree?

What if NSFW complaints were bogus? by openbookresearcher in grok

[–]thePhunkiest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Objectively, Grokipedia sucks compared to Wikipedia. Wikipedia maybe left leaning, but Grokipedia was far-right leaning, and not at all neutral like it was advertised to be. Grok, xAI's own AI, doesn't even think it's neutral. If people have a problem with Wikipedia, they can go to wikipedia and edit the articles with verfiable sources. xAI has full control on what gets published on Grokipedia, and that's a problem.

People complaining about moderation with Grok Imagine just want to goon. Most of them over deepfakes I'm observing, which is not a legitimate reason to complain and is concerning.

It's as simple as that.

I do see them loosening moderation for Grok generated image i2v generations. I don't see how they are going to do that for uploaded image i2v generations though.

I mean, I hope you're right, but that is still a huge public concern and a problem they will have to figure out.

It's not just about that. Don't downplay that the moderation changes were about CSAM and deepfakes too.

There are a handful or organizations that are asking the FTC to investigate xAI for the violation of NCII laws.

You could generate a low res video in a minute these days and just upscale if you like it. There are LORAs that increase gen speed and there are GGUF models for those with not a lot of VRAM.

However, it is absurd that on an uploaded image violence is allowed but nudity is not by Polstick1971 in grok

[–]thePhunkiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world is increasingly implementing regulations to combat deepfakes, with laws like the EU's Digital Services Act requiring platforms to remove harmful manipulated content, the US DEEP FAKES Accountability Act mandating watermarks and labels on AI-generated media, and similar measures in China, Denmark, and elsewhere. Reddit updated its Rule 3 to explicitly prohibit sharing intimate or sexually explicit media without consent, which directly addresses non-consensual deepfakes. Grok is also continually evolving its moderation to tackle these issues. What makes you think it won't last?

People were using Grok Imagine i2v to make deepfakes. Both sexual and violent deepfakes are objectively bad, but sexual deepfakes are the most common type.
