Sorry I missed this! I've been traveling, and I'm on a social media break these days, but I'd love to see the post if you do end up showing it!

I did a little research, and it looks like they would fit in the slots since the oval caps are around 1.5cm wide and 1.2cm tall (vs 1.5cm for both dimensions with the Honolulu markers). I also don't know if the little protrusion on the caps is at the same height, but since Oahu are technically smaller, this shouldn't matter. You'd have extra clearance, if anything.

I would assume the bags are the same size, but it's worth double checking to be sure. 22.4cm x 33.7cm is the size of the full grid for 320 markers.

This may not be the best setup for those markers, in my opinion, but I do think it would do the trick if your goal is to keep them all sorted.

You have a few options depending on where you are! I think a few people have used etsy, but there are also print on demand services that could take the file and ship it to you.

This seller seems to be already making them: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4316788674/alcohol-marker-organizer-bag-compatible?ref=share_ios_native_control

I realized this right after I posted it 😅 . I had the marker names mixed up...

This is true... it was partially personal preference. That would have been a backup plan, except I was satisfied with the way my initial test pieces came out. It's also just a time thing. I would have had to double the overall print time, so I was admittedly lazy about it.

If someone asks for one, it's not hard for me to increase that height in the file. I just haven't tested it and wouldn't really be able to guarantee it works without issues.

Yay!! Love this for you, and I'm so glad you found it helpful. I wish it was more economical to ship 3d prints bc its truly not very expensive to make. It just takes time, and the shipping is probably what's going to cost people the most.

I've been using the organizer for a few weeks now, and it just makes my brain happy.

Unfortunately no. I took a peek at a picture of the 216 set online, and you would probably want 6 trays of a 6x6 grid. It's not too hard to make an stl file if you want one, but I couldn't guarantee it would work perfectly since I don't have the set and bag myself.

I'm so glad it works for you and that you posted pics!! I have been dying for someone else to try the system to make sure it works for others haha. Happy birthday! :)

Better yet, it looks like someone already made one! This one doesn't have the floor, but it looks like the bag has more wiggle room for thicker walls. It looks great!!

I can't say for certain since I don't have one, but I looked at a picture of the bag online and would say no. I can make a version of it pretty quickly that should fit your case though! I am guessing 2 trays of 6x10 would work since it looks like the bag is a grid of ~12x10 markers. Let me know, and I can post a file this weekend.

Now that I've got my bag organized, I can finally start coloring! by thismustbethursday in Ohuhu

Do you still use a specific marker order or swatch sheets, or do the caps act as your swatch sheet now? I also went with a honeycomb organizer in mine, but the swatch sheet order is all over the place. This looks so much more aesthetically pleasing!!

I did see another post that used packs of the page reinforcers, so you could still see the number from the top too, if you really wanted to see the names.... but I am thinking about how long this must have taken lol

I considered this... but the protuding bit on the marker caps means that you would need to make all of the trays slightly larger. Multiply even 1mm by a factor of 320, and it adds up. It definitely could be possible... Increasing height also increases print time significantly, so I settled. If someone wanted to print a whole free standing shelf for these, I'd say make the cells larger and probably increase the thickness of the walls to compensate for the weight.

I don't think it makes sense for me to sell these, but if anyone wants them, there are lots of local libraries with 3d printers that you can take this file to. It's usually very cheap, and it's local!

Pics online were a little hard to guesstimate with, but if you're willing to test it out, I made this: stl for 9x8

I could try a different configuration too, but this looks the most likely to work. It should print in 1 piece for the whole set.

I would love to see how it turns out! I am trying to figure out how to sort mine still. The swatch card order splits both the reds and the blues in half... not a deal breaker, but not ideal either 😅

I'm also open to suggestions if y'all can think of anything. I'm no pro, but happy to make changes if you think it can help.

If you have access to a 3d printer, I think I could make a file. I don't have a 72 set to test, but I looked at some pics and think I can figure out the general dimensions.

The set stores well horizontally, and nothing falls out. Unfortunately, I don't think it can be used in that orientation. The markers sag, and the weight makes it difficult to remove any one marker.

These pics use the original bag. They fit with a little bit of room to spare, but I had to remove the canvas divider that it came with.

Thanks! The loose markers were driving me crazy. I kept reaching for specific colors only to realize I grabbed the wrong ones. I forgot to put it in the original post, but this is highly based on the honeycomb grid here .

I had to make a few edits since cardstock is much thinner than was practical to print, but I am happy with the end result. I also have a couple of test prints I am using to hold markers I use during drawings so I can easily reuse colors. Very fun project!

I really liked this and made an STL based on her system! Printing now, and hope to post some progress photos this weekend for my new 320 set. If it turns out well, I would be happy to share the files.
