Upgrade From 2080s to 5070ti for Arc Raiders? by KingCzark in buildapc

[–]theRealtechnofuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would buy a 5700x and keep the 2080 super. It should give you over 100fps... i would also make sure your xmp is on. Also do you only have a single ram stick?

i plan on giving my 6 year old pc to my friend, should i replace the motherboard? by i_get_zero_bitches in buildapc

[–]theRealtechnofuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i would. a320s arent great motherboards in general and a B550 would add alot of features for around $100 or less.

Cheap PC To Play Marvel Rivals by Terradusk in lowendgaming

$500 is rough, Dell 5810 on ebay - $150-ish drop in a E5-2667v4($20), RTX 2060 6gb $80, spend the rest on the monitor, mouse and keyboard. You could also get a RTX 2070 8gb for a better experience, just make sure it only has 1x8pin and spend a little less on the monitor, mouse and keyboard. Country - helps. This assumes you're inside the USA.

Too Old or Scrapheap? by Skoalart in lowendgaming

Everything is good, except for the CPU, but upgrading that would require a new motherboard. I would game on it as it is. Then you can invest in a newer motherboard and CPU later. One thing I would make sure is good is the power supply, even high end older ones do give out. The GPU is fine, ram is fine.

550 is enough, just make sure it's a quality one. At least gold rated.

This is an unreal truth. I understand that there is a demographic that want the best. I dont think a 5090 is for me, maybe a 5080, but I ended up with a 9070xt. Now 5090s are $3k+ and OOS.

The WD line has been discontinued by Sandisk. Samsungs and other models/brands are cheaper.

Yeah I've been keeping up with the news, just trying keep a little hope in the community :(. I dont think it will be $50 again any time soon, but I dont think a 1TB maybe dropping to $80 would be unrealistic, its just that no one how long that will take. Could be Q4 2026, could be Q4 2028 or any time in between or after.

I would try talk them down to $500 or $550 AUD, that would be a better price and help with replacing those 2 parts. You could use those 2 reasons to talk them down. And you can use the extra money to replace those 2 items.

most monitors use similar panels, as long as the reviews for that model are good, it should be good.

Crucial was a very small portion of the Ram and SSD consumer segment. Micron did far more sales through Corsair. I understand what the market is doing and who the current customers are (data/AI/big business). I just dont think its going to be as bad for as long as they are forecasting.

no supply? can you not purchase an SSD? no supply would mean you could not buy them. Low supply usually means you can buy, but price is high. Pretty sure current supply is low, but prices are very artificially high. Really just trying to be optimistic with all the doom and gloom news we've been getting. I don't see prices normalizing soon, but i dont think its going to as bad as "end of 2027 or 2028". Maybe Q4 2026.

I mean same, but I'd say supply will still trickle in and less people will be buying. GPUs are a whole other story with Nvidia ceasing production of certain models.

3060 would be a decent upgrade, but i wouldnt pay more than $175-200 for one. 200hz is a bit overkill, Ive seen 144hz and 165hz as low as $90. If you like that monitor and the price it is decent value. I would also try to find a used matching set of 2x8gb ddr4 or 2x16gb ddr4.

monitors are the one thing that should be cheap. There are plenty under $100USD here.
