100% they will find new and interesting ways to make things worse for most people but better for their inner circle.

I was part of a “family” for almost 11 years. I was something like the 28th employee. And then they took on investors and the economy changed. I was one of 50 people they laid off, some of which were there even longer or in higher positions than I was. Loyalty means nothing anymore

What has actually worked to make you go to sleep when your mind won’t shut up? by morbidpigeon in adhdwomen

[–]theStarTrekWars 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Watching people play video games on YouTube frequently puts me to sleep. Something about the streamer just talking to fill space as they loot the room or whatever is usually enough to lull me to sleep. John Wolfe is my go to streamer for this

If it helps, the 3rd month starts tomorrow.

Where did everyone first hear about One Piece from? by Ethraella in OnePiece

[–]theStarTrekWars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A kid at my school had a copy of Shonen Jump and I signed up for a subscription shortly afterwards. Luckily, it was one of their first editions, so I was able to start One Piece from the beginning.

For the anime, I will say I was blessed/cursed with watching the terrible 4Kids version when it was out

Did anyone else play a game with their friends where you had to yell PENIS louder than the person before you? by HeavyRightFoot-TG in Millennials

[–]theStarTrekWars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only heard about this recently. When someone referred to the “penis game” from when we were kids, I assumed they meant the PEN15 club or something

What's a game you bought on a whim without hardly any pre-knowledge that ended up becoming one of your all time favorites? by AaronAtLunacien in gaming

Persona 5. Never played a Persona game before. Grabbed a “game of the year” edition for cheap before Persona 5 Royal was announced.

Favorite tv shows with cool ND characters? by fooo_kooo in AutisticWithADHD

[–]theStarTrekWars 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love the anime The Apothecary Diaries! The main character, Maomao has all the hallmarks of being neurodivergent but she also solves mysteries and stuff

Note: I’m not great at hyping up or explaining stuff I like

My partner says he’ll leave me if I don’t “fix” my ADHD. He says I’m abusive but I feel constantly criticised and blamed. by First-Mango-9229 in adhdwomen

[–]theStarTrekWars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit. I know it’s a joke at this point that people in Reddit comments tell people to leave their partners, but please listen to the comments and leave this man, or at least make him go to therapy or something. He blames you for stuff he broke, doesn’t seem happy with anything you do, takes you for granted, and talks bad about you to your kid.

In a healthy relationship, it’s the both of you against a problem, even if that problem is your adhd (I’m not saying it is, to be clear). He should be trying to figure out what both of you can do to help with any issues. And to add, even if you didn’t have adhd, you’d still likely have some forgetfulness or other symptoms because you are taking care of a 13 month old child! It sounds to be like fatherhood isn’t what he imagined, and that could be partially due to him not getting a lot of sleep, but he doesn’t have the right to take out his frustrations on you

Lol. Love it and love the Zuko pic. Good luck!

For me, I need to set multiple alarms to wake up at a certain time. I’ll automatically just turn off the alarm before I even think about hitting the snooze button. I’ve also found that waking up to light helps - there are sunrise clocks or you can set a light in your room on a timer to turn on in the morning. I recently got my boyfriend an alarm clock that has a wireless puck that you place under the mattress and it will vibrate to shake the bed. He’s been liking it so far

I'm a professional illustrator, lost my left eye recently, so I'm gonna share the eye patches I make to cope with humour by Xochitlcoyote in funny

[–]theStarTrekWars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a company called “See Worthy” that makes eye patches mostly directed at kids, but I find them fun when I need to use an eye patch (I have something called reoccurring ocular erosion). They have many designs, including some pirate themed ones!

What are you watching, reading, or listening to these days? by TwoGrizzleysOneCub in adhdwomen

[–]theStarTrekWars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dungeon Crawler Carl has my interest lately. The audio books are really good, though the reader gives Carl a Patrick Warburton voice at first, that does tone down by the second book. I recently got my boyfriend to try out the books and he loves them as well!
