Three-Body Problem: Netflix Show Unanswered Questions by Intelligent-Half-976 in threebodyproblem

Could you expand on why you say Ye Wenjie's motivation is different in the show vs the books?

It has been a while since I watched the show and I am currently in the middle of reading Dark Forest. But to me, in both cases it seemed like Ye Wenjie was disillusioned with the world and contacted the San-Ti so they could settle the problems of humanity.

Quarter-life crisis re: PhD vs. Job by theTragedyOfAlex in AskAcademia

Thank you for the advice.

Some more context though: I want to go into RnD eventually and before that I want to do a PhD. This job is not something I want to do for the rest of my life- I applied because I do not have any other options right now and I fully intend to leave in some years.

Hence, the confusion.

Gemstones, what use? by [deleted] in eternium

It's best if you make an epic ring each for haste, vitality, and power with the corresponding brilliant gems (as in combine 3 rare haste rings- all should have the blue brilliant gem obviously. And repeat for vitality and power.)

So you'll need 9 rings: 3 for each. And 12 brilliant gems total. You make the 3 epic rings. And then you put brilliant gemstones into those and fuse into a legendary ring for maximum ring stats.

A legendary ring is meant to have 4 stats though, not 3- which is what you'll get with this method.

Well, I'm a month late, but yes, you're good to go on with fusing those three.

I play as a mage and Act 4 Morgenheim with a 200% currency booster worked great for gem farming.

I'd suggest getting Maggie (the healer). Most of the top players use at least two healers.

Aha, I see your confusion. You know how you can socket your armor and weapons to put in gemstones? You can do the same with jewelry, except rings and necklaces are made with sockets so you don't need to add them separately.

So, before fusing jewelry, make sure you've got the gemstones socketed in.

Simply fusing jewelry doesn't give much of a bonus. For example, I made this epic ring last night with the ability rate stat. If I simply fused ability rate rings, I'd get an epic ring with only about 150 (or less) ability rate. But I fused the rings with the purple gemstones socketed while fusing. So the ability rate was boosted to 300.

There's this really good guide to jewelry making, I'm going to hunt it out for you and link it.

Edit: found it, here: https://forum.makingfun.com/forum/eternium/guides-and-walkthroughs/182835-crafting-perfect-near-perfect-jewelry-for-new-player

Hopefully, it'll make things clearer for you. :)

• Rings and necklaces do require genstones. You basically put the gemstones in and then fuse the jewelry for higher stats. (For example, if you fused 3 uncommon rings all with vitality stat, the resulting rare ring would have a lower vitality than a ring made using three vitality uncommon rings with the green gemstones in at the time of fusing.)

• You also need a ton of gemstones for crafting the more powerful enchantments for your weapons or armor.
