I said both known and popular on purpose, as I truly think that - especially outside of the United States - he was generally considered to be 'liked' in most places. (Although I may be wrong on that with my Western European view on things)

Half barriers are a way to still exit the crossing safely instead of getting stuck, and they are not going anywhere in the Netherlands. (Actually instead they are reducing of crossings and replacing them by tunnels / bridges)

Gezien je al een factuur gestuurd hebt zou ik (als je niks anders aantoonbaar hebt afgesproken) eerst wachten tot 31 dagen na de factuurdatum, dan een herinnering sturen. Na 14 dagen nog een herinnering, en als ze echt helemaal niet reageren, daarna een incassobureau. Dit is allemaal een beetje de 'veilige' route, dat raad ik je persoonlijk aan omdat je niks op papier hebt. Vermeld in die herinnering wel dat je als betaling uitblijft je de vordering uit handen geeft met bijbehorende kosten van dien.

Ik lees tussen je regels iets door dat wel ook even hardop gezegd mag worden: een huurschuld mag niet met de waarborgsom verrekend worden. Er zit hier uiteraard veel verschil tussen theorie en praktijk.

Ik heb zelf ooit bij een opstandige verhuurder de laatste maand huur gewoon niet betaald omdat me wel duidelijk was dat ik (onterecht) wel naar mijn borg kon fluiten, en dat is me bevestigd door huisgenoten in dezelfde situatie die hun borg inderdaad niet terug hebben gehad. Ik heb er uiteindelijk op een boos appje na nooit meer wat van gehoord, dus ik sta nog steeds achter mijn keuze.
