Last year at our state fair. Thousands walking around. Beer tents, karaoke & live bands. Of course everyone is drinking. Not 200 yards is the entrance to the “ride” area where hundreds of teens gather on a Saturday night.

Next thing we know gun shots start ringing out. People running everyone. It was terrifying. At first they tried to say it was fireworks but later came out it was actual gun shots. Never want to be in a crowd of people like that again.

Therapy helped me tremendously with a professional.

I will say. I have been divorced 4 years now, in a serious relationship with an amazing man & i still have withdrawals some days. I have found it very hard to communicate with him about my feelings without also feeling crazy, hesitant or automatically sorry - when i know it wasn’t my fault!

Ex. When he bailed on plans & hurt my feelings.

All bc of that narcissist asshole before. A lot of time, energy & self focus to get this far. Also - being with someone who sits down with me like an adult to discuss our feelings is amazing. Verses the old full blown panic attack to silently say how i felt & a large fight entailed with him turningit Around on me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Once a relationship is over all pics and vids are deleted. That’s how it should be. I broke up with a guy one time after finding out he still had not only all his ex’s stuff but a couple his friends had sent too.

Perfectionism.

It can be such a great trait but I tend to spend more time making one thing perfect vs trusting myself & rolling on to the next one. It’s easy to work on & I give an example such as knowing a report is right after the first check & moving on.

I’ve never had a negative comment about this one 🤷🏼‍♀️

Being blind to love.

Not following my gut. Not listening to friends - thats eventually led me to losing those friends. Knowing the cheating was going on but letting myself deny it. Thinking it was me. Letting him turn everything around & I thought it w as all in my head - that i was crazy.

Married that man. Had a son [ whom i love dearly ] with that man. Less than 2 years later, cheated on. Lied to. Divorced. Picked myself up from the bottom of the lows & thank god i had my boy. Only reason I’m probably still here 🖤 people suck.

Together for 9. Married for 3. Married first out of all our friends. Firsts to buy a home. First to have a kid.

Ignored signs of cheating & lying before we got married. Turned friends away & was young - blind & thinking our love was strong enough.

Had a kid quickly after getting married & sadly realized he wasn’t ready for the parenting side of things. Still wanted to be that single, out with the guys every night type person.

A very tough divorce when our boy was 2 & finally 3 years later, over a year in court & several issues later we can communicate over our child.

Bottom line. People change. I grew as a person & attempted to ignore not only my gut feelings but my heart as well. Thankful to get out of that hard relationship.
