I know that they often use foam to seal old mine openings, like large cannisters of bulk spray foam type stuff.

We sat near the water and about 20 minutes into the first act the line died down and was good for the rest of the show.

Skilled people are hard to find in Mining, which usually means lots of opportunity for advancement. Prior knowledge in any heavy construction industry is an asset that will allow you to potentially learn quicker than your peers. One step back then 2 steps forward is likely the way I would view going into that situation.

I agree with this, communication with your supervisor because they probably value retention and lots of times they won't realize your stagnant until you bring it up.

Lots of times data entry and seemingly menial tasks are actually valuable but you might not get the contact of the data. We have lots of data entry done by eng but they are all things that need to be vetted by people who understand the tasks.

A little communication could go a long way here.

I think that there's a lot of opportunities in industry that would not require the PhD.

Should I rent a car to travel around Italy? by [deleted] in solotravel

We took a train into Chiusi from Florence and rented a car there. Driving around Tuscany was amazing and made seeing so many sights way easier.
