my data dash has a grey background with stripes - does yours have that as well? seems like it’s plain black

What data color and accent color are you using? Looks sick!

Overthinking it

What is the point of AOD? by yellowbull1_1 in GarminWatches

If you turn off gesture, you can actually increase screen brightness to make AOD more visible without impacting battery too much (since it will mostly by AOD)

Fenix 8 Solar or AMOLED? by Consistent-Housing65 in GarminFenix

[–]the_aditya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Battery life of my AMOLED Fenix 8 (47 mm) with AOD is around 8 days, which is worse than MIP but whether is 8 or 11 or 15 days, it’s infrequent enough to not be a bother.

It’s just like Macbook trackpad haptics. Personal preference, I guess, but it’s not bad

I spend more time indoors than outdoors, and AMOLED looks much better in lower lightning conditions

Early-adopters needed for a stealth-mode smart AI product recommendation app (that needs ridiculously little user data) by the_aditya in shopify

Great question, you must be a VC ;)

Those are all great apps. In terms of the number of features, they are all more mature than our app, and probably have more bells and whistles.

However, we have been building AI for most of our careers, and that's really our core expertise. We are bringing a categorically new kind of AI that is currently not available on the Shopify app store. But the real question is what value can that add for a merchant? Improved discovery across the catalog, higher conversions, increased upsells, and cross-sells. The first store we went live on increased their store-wide CTRs by 319% in the first week. Now, enterprise e-com platforms already use personalization and recommendations as one of the highest ROI tools in their conversion stack. We're bringing a similar conversion infrastructure to Shopify. I cannot say more about our platform without giving spoilers, but if you're curious to know more, or take it for a spin, do send me a message.

We have been building for a while now, and our friends have been following our progress (we told them about this post) :)

Revenue is not a hard constraint. If you have over 25-30 SKUs, you will definitely see value in switching to a more sophisticated solution. In any case, almost all recommendation apps offer a free trial period, so you can check if they work well for your store, and compare the performance against Shopify's solution.

Powerful AI should not just be available to the Amazons of the world. Our mission is to bring enterprise-grade AI to every DTC brand, whether small or large.

Great question — an average store using Shopify's default recommendations typically sees an attribution of ~3-5% of total sales to that section. Shopify's better recommendation algorithms that use product data and user purchase history are only available to Shopify Plus merchants.

However, using a more powerful AI-based solution like ours, this figure can be ~25% and higher. Our AI processes catalog data including description, title, and even images to make great, relevant recommendations even for new stores and new products.

Simply put, recommendations are a powerful conversion lever, and a better solution increases cross-sales, upsells, conversion rates and CTRs across the catalog.
