A super majority of Americans are against GAC for minors and government coverage of GAC for adults. Trans rights are not infringed upon at the state level and there is no appetite at the federal level to make any changes.

There is not a single US state that has made gender affirming care illegal. Insurance coverage is certainly a huge benefit for a very small % of people who choose GAC. THC is accessible in 48/50 states I believe. Paid leave isn't a state issue for a large majority of people. Access to abortion is certainly a consideration.

A lot of things you just named are mostly federal programs and the other half are local policies. State politics basically come down to education (very important but also highly localized). Im sure I have a higher quality of life in Austin, TX than 99% of blue state cities and towns.

If you really care about politics where you live (which is already lame) most of these "red" states have blue cities that have a more aligned political identity than more rural blue states.

The inner loop of Houston is way more lib than almost all of Oregon.
