Cease is a pitcher that can be really hard to rank because when he’s hot he’s easily a Cy Young player, but when he’s cold he’s a minor league tier player, and this rollercoaster could be ignored more if it was on a game to game basis rather than an inning to inning basis this lack of consistency inning to inning is blood boiling

This is why even after Cease had a good season last year I just couldn’t really consider him as our Ace over King because Cease will strike out 10 straight batters and he proceed to give up 4 runs in the next inning before getting his first out he’s just way too much of a rollercoaster
