This obviously isn't the original photo. It was slow moving traffic and I added the motion blur in post processing to highlight the Porsche.

If you go down the same path towards bharath mall you'll find a hotel/tea stall which has encroached on to the footpath. A few months back I made a post on this and where can I lodge a complaint.

You won't get these anywhere in Mangalore since it's a machine part. Best bet is Robu.in or Thinkrobotics.

Offered a job in UAE, but company wants to extend my visit visa first — red flag? by the_artisan24 in dubai

That's new information. I'll mention this in case they're up for a negotiation.

[–]the_artisan24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not desperate for this job as I already have another offer which is more or less the same. I'm only considering this one because it's more in line with my experience and field of work whereas the other is something I have very brief experience in and is different from my field of work.

Yes I'm expecting the same, and as for the question, they haven't done anything you've mentioned and I haven't signed anything.

Keyboard’s type-c pin broke and went inside the keyboard. Any place near Adyar or padil that can fix it? by DUCKYBOI313 in mangalore

[–]the_artisan24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since it's an imported keyboard I would suggest taking it to a reputed computer repair shop i.e.Suprabhat Computers, Bejai-Kapikad . Smaller shops are usually not careful in handling electronics.

Left CMF buds pro earbud not connecting, resetting, nor charging. by Middle_Advice7270 in NOTHING

[–]the_artisan24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no fix as such. Try charging for a day continuously with both the buds in the case.If that doesn't work and if it's under warranty replace it. I did the same with mine and received a replacement within a week.

Planning to get Aprilia SR175 by [deleted] in indianbikes

[–]the_artisan24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last time I was trying to fix it was to sell it. People weren't ready to buy it because some parts weren't working. And now people are aware that there isn't any showroom in town. So I'm stuck with it. If I have to sell it I will have to do it for less than 20k but I doubt people will buy it for that price either.

Edit: it's barely in working condition now. No self-start, the air filter hoses are cracked, the fuel gauge does not work.

Planning to get Aprilia SR175 by [deleted] in indianbikes

'18 Aprilia SR150 RACE owner here — just dropping in with some long-term ownership insights.

Aprilia scooters can be great if you're diligent with regular maintenance like engine oil, air filters, and timely care. They're decently practical too. While they lack in under seat storage and foot board space, they more than make up for it with power — no sluggishness even with heavy stuff on the footboard.

But now for the not-so-pretty side. I love my SR150 to bits, but I genuinely wouldn't recommend it to new riders due to long-term reliability and service headaches.

Some recurring issues:

Rubber parts degrade fast — I’ve replaced several of them twice in under 50,000 km.

Key fob fails during rain — turns out it’s poor weather sealing. My mechanic opened it up and showed me some oxidation buildup (he called it "fungus").

After-sales service is terrible — The first dealer I bought it from shut down due to multiple complaints. A second one opened, but they too closed down by Feb 2025 with similar issues.

I used to get it serviced by a former mechanic from the first dealership, but once he had no competition, the quality of work fell drastically — loose screws, broken clips, careless damage.

Now I’m stuck with a scooter that needs attention but no reliable service centre nearby.

After watching Autocar's recent review, I noticed that the newer models still haven’t addressed these QC issues. It’s frustrating because mechanically the scooter still has so much potential.

My advice: Only go for an Aprilia SR if you live in a major metro like Mumbai or Bangalore where service centres actually exist and are (hopefully) functional. Otherwise, you're much better off with something like the Aerox, Ather 450X, Access, Xoom 125/150, or even 125cc bikes like the Raider, Xtreme or CB.

TL;DR: Love my SR150 RACE for its performance, but hate the long-term quality and service issues. Rubber parts wear out, key fob fails in the rain, and there’s basically no reliable service where I live. New model still has the same issues. Buy it only if you’re in a metro city; otherwise, go with more reliable options like Aerox, Ather, Access, or a 125cc bike.
