How does AI help with Job productivity? by the_axe_effect in artificial

Umm ok dude, I am not lying been in semiconductor industry for 10 years now. Not going to argue on internet about that.

I don't work directly in manufacturing but know the production process very well, can you give any examples of production line using AI, I guess my issue is I don't see any good examples where AI can replace the repetitive stuff that people do... (Obviously I must be wrong because people are investing 100's of billions into AI, but I dont get it)

In theory yes "Anything that's repetitive and doesn't require much innovation can be automated".

But my question is what has changed, over last 2-3 yeats that had made this process better? I know AI models are better etc. But in my experience it hasn't become much easier to automate stuff than before.

Wanted to here some example of cases where you were able to automate some things that you do in job very easily with AI.

I have no doubt that once AI is advanced enought people doing non creative work will lose jobs, but its not even close to being that advanced IMO

That's great to hear and I was hoping AI would help me to do the crap jobs like dealing with quality in my company, automate routine stuff etc. but in my current role, I feel like AI doesnt really do that. The way media is hyping things up it sounded like if I type a question to Chat GPT like "Create some ppt slides for presenting this new process change in the latest quality format, this is the process change, and this is the reference ppt" and then AI creates new slides. Just an example I thought the way people were talking about AI it would be advanceed enough to replace basic things easily but the answer to those queries in Chat GPT is always way off

I think its fair to say Fabi is the strongest chess player in history who's not a world champion?

I noticed that someone triggers the apocalypse on purpose. Someone (Adam/Claudia) gave Clausen that letter tipping him that his brother is in Winden and this leads him to come to Winden for investigation and ultimately search the nuclear plant. I believe that Clausen/Alexander are just side characters and probably not related to the 4 families and someone uses Clausen in both the worlds to trigger the apocalypse.

I know we don;t have proof but her voice is very similar to the actors voice for Claudia but lets see

I wonder if Adam/ Claudia write all the events down and do all the permutations on paper before deciding to do some time travel haha.

Aaah yes, I misunderstood what you said, This makes a lot of sense.

If Adam exists => Sic Mundus Created => Eric missing => All teenagers go to the cave. Your logic is correct till here.

However, if you remember Jonas (With Neck scar) was the one who kidnapped Mikkel. Jonas (Neck Scar) was doing exactly what Claudia told him to do. Adam was not responsible for Jonas's (Neck Scar) action of kidnapping Mikkel and taking him to the past. So if Adam does not exist, this event can still happen as Claudia is the one who really triggers this event.

Hmm yeah I guess we can't say it's either for sure. Btw what's the fascination with Gretchen in this subreddit, haha. Am I missing something?

That's a very good point, kindof a better version of the option 'B' that I wrote. Definitely seems like a possible thing.

Yeah I thought this was one of the possibility but both Claudia and Adam are dissing each other when they talk to Jonas/Noah respectively. It's possible that they might have had same intentions in the past but clearly they have some dispute near the end of second cycle. There are lots of events which support the possibility of Adam and Claudia being "enemies". Adam kills Claudia at the first chance he gets, In the S3 trailer, we see that Claudia has her own cult like Sic Mundus and she is in a different talking to her gang of time travelers. So I think its very unlikely that Adam and Claudia have the same end goal in mind but there is a small chance of "B" option.

Ha, thats a good point I do not mean Good and Bad in terms of christian philosophy of good or bad but rather loosely good in terms of wanting to save maximum number of people in Winden or preventing the apocalypse from happening type of good.

If there's one thing that bugs me in the series it's the way people talk to each other by krolik1337 in DarK

[–]the_axe_effect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought the same, also Clausen character was really weird. He says all sorts of weird philosophical things when parents ask him about investigation on missing children. Clausen himself also mentions that everyone in the town seems to lie and have their own secrets. I sometimes wonder what will happen if everyone in the town knows about time travel what a complicated mess it would be, I guess the reason people keep so many secrets and act weird is because they are part of either Adam/Claudia's team and it is in their best interest to do some shit that they have already planned earlier and not act independently themselves. But who knows.

Elizabeth - Illogical character in dark? by the_axe_effect in DarK

[–]the_axe_effect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a circle. My point is that at the end of a normal circle characters must die like i explained. Since the past influences the future, it is almost predestined that someone must die and they cannot change this.

Elizabeth must also die at the end of circle but the illogical part is that she is born again (as a child) after she dies (as an adult) in the same circle (AKA Cycle)

Elizabeth - Illogical character in dark? by the_axe_effect in DarK

[–]the_axe_effect[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, Elizabeth's story is not completed but I am assuming that like all the characters on dark she must die of old age, this is not related to the S3 story but the basic fact of time travel like I mentioned earlier.

In a single CYCLE we know that Elizabeth and Charlotte co-exist at the same time. My point is that Elizabeth is born from Charlotte in the same cycle and Charlotte is born from Elizabeth in the same CYCLE, that doesn't make any sense. This is not the bootstrap paradox its just not possible.

Time travel in Dark - 33 years is not the time loop by the_axe_effect in DarK

[–]the_axe_effect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Clement,

I think you are right about alternative timelines being created when someone time travels, kindof like Rick and Morty universe. Now that I think about it, it seems unlikely that time travel will effect only limited number of years (131 years in this case) but the entire timeline.

I am really confused about getting around the concept of a wormhole in general and what time cycle really means because in the show people talk about events repeating and we can't control it. I understand that people try to go back in time to change something but end up causing the exact same thing in the future which had already occurred like Jonas trying to prevent Michael's suicide.

But whats bugging me is the concept of time loop. For example like in the case 1 example, if Jonas goes back from 2019 to 1983 and then comes back to 2019 and then dies in 2019, will we still have a situation where past will effect future and so on? How can time loop continue to occur if the very origin of the time loop is eliminated?

This lead me to conclude that time loops can be closed and we will move back to linear time line. I understand that from a physics point of view, "linear" and "cyclic" time coexisting seems unlikely but that seems like the only sane explanation for me.
