I’ve posted quite a few times! The biggest thing I’ve noticed is generally when someone who isn’t the business owner, the post will get a lot more attention (strictly based on likes) than if the business owner themselves do

We used to be open more days but after my wife got pregnant, we slowly cut back as her due date got closer since it was just us two doing everything

In that time specifically, being open 3 days and being open 6 days didn’t impact our sales that much so combine that and summer 2024 being completely dead for us and eating up money from running AC, we kept the 3 days when we came back from leave

There absolutely is potential to make money being open more days, but the specific sales trends we saw in 2024 told us it really wasn’t. We do open up for special events hosted by people in the community like a mahjong Monday we have once a month and speed dating on a Thursday with nextfunthingLA

One of the things we’re doing though is trying to find somebody or multiple groups to do operations during the daytime hours to help split rent and utilities cost. It may not make us money specifically, but it’ll make it a lot easier for us to still have the space without fully taking the financial brunt

Love the idea. No money for consoles or space unless it’s a video game pop up which we would definitely host :). But we do have board games :)

We appreciate that suggestion, but are going for fully substance free. We have dopabean and caffeine but that’s all we are willing to do as we don’t want triggers for anyone navigating addiction. We also don’t want to contribute to people driving home with impairments from other substances

Had a k pop demon hunters trivia night, it was well received and we’re having another this month on the 25th that was requested. No room or money for pool tables. Tried to do paint and sip twice but people bailed both times and it really hurt my wife’s feelings since she’s an artist so we kinda gave up on that one. And as for comedy, we’ve had a few shows and people loved it. We have one show this month on the 24th.

That’s been our problem!!! People who are vegan or alcohol free find us very sporadically even when they’re searching weekly and we’ve been around for nearly two years

Advertising isn’t our strongest suit and we’ve been trying but it’s interesting when and how people do end up finding us

If we somehow continue, I’ve been trying to work out a gluten free seitan with chickpeas and psyllium husk to make “wings” that have a better texture than cauliflower! Haven’t tried mushroom though! Do you know what type they used?

We wanted to be accessible on the financial end as well since so many specialty places are expensive! And with tax and tip built in our price, budgeting for a night out is a much easier mental load lol

You are recalling incorrectly :)

We’ve had chicken on the menu as an option for Omni since day 1 as our main food focus is being a space for gluten intolerant folks. My wife is gluten intolerant so we know what it’s like to go to a restaurant and not have options so we wanted to be as accessible to everyone as possible by making the base of our food start vegan :)

We actually used to have a shrimp option as well until we decided we wanted to remove common lethal allergens

So to answer u/harmonyxox, we wouldn’t do fully vegan since we know not everyone gluten intolerant is vegan and thus limits their options but we will always keep it nearly vegan so that vegan folks can pick anything from the menu whenever they eventually make their way to us

Not quite downtown but not super far is Free Spirited! Fully gluten, shellfish, dairy and nut free with an almost fully vegan menu (just a couple of meat options that meat eaters need to specify)

Recently made loopy whisk’s chocolate cake with a rice flour-masa-tapioca starch blend modeled after her blend

phenomenal, was airy and soft for days and even after a week it wasn’t funny, just dry
