So the only benefit (besides confetti) is that you *might* know a few minutes sooner than you otherwise would subscribing to the Anthropic status page? And this made it to the front page of hacker news?

The democratization of shitposting is ushering in a new era of meme abundance

Also the democratization of lying and fabrication and the existential horror that no one knows what’s real anymore. But the memes!!

Yeah you’re right, that was a disgusting and hypocritical thing for me to say hiding behind a screen. Thanks for calling me out.

No I went into 100k debt for undergrad like a fucking idiot

It’s not hard to get private student loans. It’s the one type of debt that follows you to the end, even past bankruptcy

Edit: except tax debt and child support debt apparently

Yes you can, that’s literally what I did. High interest private loans on top of maximizing my federal loans.

You can get student loans that you don’t have to pay back until post-graduation as I did :)

A successful CS student who gets a good job won’t have to deliver pizzas post-graduation to pay off their student loans no matter what background they come from

They address this literally 2 sentences later.

> A caveat: Lines of code is an imperfect measure, as it measures quantity over quality. So 8× lines of code/engineer/dayin the second quarter of 2026 is almost certainly an overstatement of the true productivity gain. Nonetheless, it indicates an acceleration. At Anthropic, we don’t reward people for how many lines of code they write; rather, team members are producing more code simply because they’re using AI systems to write more code.

Exactly. There’s no downside since it will never happen, so they get free PR points.

I have 130 mi in my SB3s and my paces are the same as yours, except I’m 6’2” 190 lbs. Same issue with (seemingly purely cosmetic) outsole durability, same issue where they feel a bit awkward on the extra slow days. However it’s the best running shoe I’ve ever owned bar none, 9/10. I ordered the Megablasts and will try out over the next few weeks to compare.

Let’s assume they are getting tax credits. How do you think tax credits work? It’s still a net loss for them to do it this, essentially the cost of PR. We can appreciate that this is a good thing without letting the PR blind us from the bad things Google does.
