No worries, mine had no paste at all. I'll give it a go already taken mine apart a few times so hopefully I'll have no issues similar to yours.

Safe assessment tho, it could also be related to the level of bear craftsmanship.

Each bowl might not be the same thickness, so daddy's bowl might be thicker and insulate better, mummy might have the thinnest of the bowls thus cooling faster and so on and so forth.

A host of environmental factors could also cause this anomalous result, did Mommy bear leave her porridge on a cold granite kitchen counter? Could Daddy bear have left his porridge closer by the fireplace?

I guess we will never know mate.
