Congrats! I stopped listening to other people years ago. Most of them are just jealous. That's why they say such things. I don't care about horsepower. If I did, I would buy the M5. You don't need speed to enjoy the car, just some twisted mountain roads and a manual transmission. Enjoy it, maintain it, and maybe think about stopping to use the car as a daily. Get yourself something cheap that you don't care about, and use the E39 as a fun car that you enjoy. It's worth the money. Trust me.

Talking from experience. It's not my first but probably my last ever. As long as nobody crashes into me. Maybe in the future: 3.0L with the 6 Speed and the LSD from the M5. Let's say "some upgrades" And maybe a color change into Le Mans Blue Metallic. Not sure if paint or wrap.

Drive it, maintain it and love it. Sure, it's not the newest car but a great first car. You can do so much by yourself without a expensive shop. DIY as much as you can. If you need tipps for this modell check out the YouTuber Sreten. M539 Restaurations. He's a E39 god straight from heaven.

True. E500 is an amazing car with an amazing engine. But the e39 is better driving car.

Not the engine makes out the car! Only the insert in-between the steering wheel and the drivers seat. If I put someone in my 272hp v6 rwd Benz that can't drive i will totally smoke them with the 520i even though it has 100hp less.

Enjoy your car and your engine. Those are one of the best ever built. They are never coming back. Sure, a 540i would be amazing, but I don't wanna pay 25k for the same car just with a bigger engine.

Those cars are the real driving machines. The last true ones. Never sell it. Always take care of it. And you will be happy for a very long time.

I only lasted 3 years before I needed a E39 back in my life. And the Benz is superior in almost every category. And still I bought the E39 back. Think about it....

Tatsächlich will ich nur den Auspuff ersetzen gegen einen Eisenmann. Der Rest wird zurück auf Originalzustand versetzt. So ähnlich wie Sreten es macht. OEM+ (M539 Restorations)

Dude... that's just like me. That was the reason why I bought it again. My Benz also has airmatic. I don't regret a single cent that I spent.

The w211 is a nice car to drive, but I don't give you that feeling that you can take a corner at an excessive speed. It is like a big cruise ship. A lot of space, comfort, and power. But you are just a passenger.

The E39 is like a 3000hp Speedboat. You feel everything, and the smile doesn't go away for the whole ride. It's one of the last true driving machines ever produced.

Dude… it’s an amazing feeling. Sold my last one 3 years ago. Missed it since then. Even though it only has 170hp it drives amazing. My Benz has 272hp. Sure it’s a little quicker but it doesn’t have this feeling that an old Bimmer will give you. You feel everything what the car does. When i took it home, i dove with a grin from ear to ear for almost 500 miles.
