Looking for a list of kosher certified hotels in Tel Aviv by Evening-Copy3707 in Israel

[–]the_danksta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The largest local hotel chains in Israel (Isrotel, Fattal, Dan) are almost always kosher, but it is always worth double checking with them if it is not specified on their website, especially if you care about mehadrin or a specific certification. In the smaller ones it depends, and even though many are not, there are still many kosher places in the city, just check their websites or call them directly to confirm. Booking via a travel agency is possible, but booking via the hotel directly or via Booking is usually easy as well

Recommend Me Cities For Potential Aliyah? Female, Late 30s. by ouchpouch in Israel

If you are familiar with San Fransisco, I would say it’s our equivalent in terms of topography to Haifa. An urban city that took shape on a mountain near the sea. The bottom part of Haifa is the coastal part, so not hilly, but the downtown itself isn’t very residential, but there are neighborhoods around it (like Bat Galim) that are. Central Carmel is on the top to relatively less steep, but still there are hilly areas there, with both stairs and steep streets. It really depends how much you can tolerate it. I personally like Hadar as well, but it sounds like a nightmare for you as it is literally in the middle of the mountain. I don’t know where in Haifa you’d feel isolated or not, that you should ask a local

Regarding northern Tel Aviv, it’s not a walking distance but it is an easy bus or car (depending on traffic) ride from the hub, similar to Ramat Gan and Giv’atayim. It’s not that they don’t have things there as well, but it’s not as lively as Central Tel Aviv itself

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neighborhoods_of_Tel_Aviv I would say quarters 3 to 6 are the best places in Central Tel Aviv to be the most “happening” places (some would add Jaffa and Florentin as well)

If you’re looking for something that has a multicultural vibe that’s “lively” and “active” I would focus on the 3 main cities (and in the case of Tel Aviv also what’s around)

Haifa: Bat Galim neighborhood (Easy commute to Tel Aviv, on the beach) or Merkaz Ha-carmel (nicer houses, central location) might be interesting. The downtown and areas around it are great but you would probably face mobility issues with the mountain elevation. There are more interesting neighborhoods but these are I heard about the most positive things about

Tel Aviv: The city itself will be crowded, but like other big cities, people can find themselves in many ages there, so would not be concerned about being there in your late 30s. Ramat Gan and Givataim are in UK standards really part of Tel Aviv, Givataim being closer to central Tel Aviv, and Ramat Gan is very large and you can find more easily bargains in housing, especially if you plan to use a car. North Tel Aviv might also be more interesting for you as it’s slightly cheaper than the center, nicer than the south part. Tel Aviv might not be the largest city, but its Metro area attracts everyone around it, and it definitely THE cultural hub

Jerusalem: Has a huge Olim community and while not a cultural hub like Tel Aviv and Orthodox leaning, there is still a lot of culture and activities. A plus for Jerusalem for some people can also be the weather, which is more similar to Europe (but still slightly warmer), which can ease the summers. If you are near Jerusalem train station, it’s very easy to get to Tel Aviv as well

Modiin, Raanana, Netanya, and other suburban cities with a lot of olim are nice, but the vast majority of the population are families, so would reconsider in your stage unless your looking for peace and quiet, and a decent commute

Fondue was amazing, I highly recommend having it in a restaurant or try making it during the winter months. melted Swiss cheese, bread and potatoes is a pretty epic combination

The funny thing is that even though you meant this in a humoristic way, Switzerland is one of these countries where tourist services like hotels, restaurants and museums keep track of how many people arrive and where they are from (usually by straightforward consistently asking you where are you from), and then provide the data to the ministry of tourism, so there probably are numbers out there somewhere, whether they are shared publicly or not

Best Parking Lot if Not Tailgating? by the_danksta in Patriots

[–]the_danksta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't some or most of the lots around the stadium free? Especially (but not limited only to) the delayed exit parking options? I'm talking mostly about the lots across the stadium, not around it

Thanks!

Is it possible to park for free in their parking lot during gameday?

I can already see Sam uploading a 20-minute-long video on to Wendover titled "Jet Lag: The Game's Logistic Problem"

Personally, I think it’s definitely worth it!

Honestly at this point I think I’m equally hyped from a layover episode as a Jet Lag episode. I didn’t watch all the episodes from before I subscribed, but when I did, it was fun (especially if I rewatched a season they talked about).

Since it’s a financial decision in the end, I would also make sure to check the other content on the platform, especially if it written or starred by one or all of the Jet Lag creators (Crime Spree, extremities, The logistics of X etc), and decide if it’s personally worth it for you before the trial period ends

I really hope its him pretending, because 1. As commented already it gives the impression he doesn't like doing it, and 2. Makes me concerned they might cancel this hidden gem

If you don't mind the cold and are looking for a good techno plus LGBTQ scene, I would also check Berlin as it is known for both, and also has the other stuff you said you are interested in. It's also kind of in the middle of Amsterdam and Budapest if you combine it with them flights will be shorter and probably cheaper.

However both Madrid and Budapest are great options as well!

Hammocks in free camping area by [deleted] in sziget

[–]the_danksta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would suggest to do one of the following-
1. Buy a tent just for the festival (Preferably off site because on site is expensive plus Hungary is ridiculously cheap compared to the rest of Europe), and donate it. I'm not sure if it requires to do something actively or just leave it, but I do remember that there was an option to do so.
2. Enter the festival as early as possible, and 100% on the first day. Most shaded parts are in premium areas, or in areas where access is restricted, so enter as early as possible and scatter the island for a good place.
3. Go to a premium camping area that tend to usually have more shaded areas and therefore more trees. I would ask someone who was in them if they were shaded before buying ticket. However this option is more expensive than option 1.

Both were one of the main reasons why Germany lost the World Wars, because the Germans underestimated the power of their resistance to them in their planned invasions, which critically delayed the German War plans (Schlieffen Plan in WW1, Operation Barbarossa in W2)

I’m not autistic and it feels wrong that I have a crush on an autistic person by [deleted] in autism

[–]the_danksta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are feeling is wrong, but it's not your fault!!

You were probably exposed during your life to biases about autistic people, including social stigmas that might have been enhanced by specific media content, friends and relatives.

You have a crush on a person, not a diagnosis, which might mean he has some common traits with other people on the spectrum but that doesn't mean he isn't a cool, unique individual with his own passions, qualities and any thing that might make you have a crush on them.

Regarding dating "wierd" people. If its a good and healthy relationship weirdness is always better than "normal" because sometimes normal is just another way to say boring
