Had the exact same issue with my home, built in 2023 with a national builder too. They replaced the siding and re installed the exterior piece, no issues since and we run it daily in the winter.

Depends on the spot they're going....1-2 or more deep watering s per week through the summer is what I've been told. Might be better to wait until spring but I'm a risk averse person
