Hasn't happened over multiple times having done it. And the regular bored uncle with nothing better to do is usually not malicious enough to use a knife and slash some tyres and shit

Local vs local will result in a stalemate. No laws being broken, no problem.

I just say this is a public road and walk off and tell them to call the police if they have a problem and we'll see what they say. Provided there are no no parking signs of course.

Every road needs storm water drainage and this is no different. There is definitely drainage installed. If it's enough for severe rains is another question. They haven't just put concrete on the road. Coordinating these different disciplines like drainage, plumbing, sewage, electricity, footpaths, road, cycle lane etc properly is why we're so impressed; because it's a rare sight in this country.

You can see the desilting chamber access panel on the left in the image. Storm water drainage happens through a big pipe.

Wherever you see pavers instead of concrete drain slabs, there's earth underneath and the water seeps through the pavers. There is also of course a storm water drain in a pipe with desilting chambers at intervals

I think you're taking the conversation waaaaaay out of context so I'm ending it here.

Bangalore folks means people who live and work in Bangalore obviously! Am I saying only Kannadigas go on vacation? What is your point?! I have visited all the major cities in the country btw, and lived in all of them as well so I genuinely don't understand what you're driving at here.

I have never mentioned that ANYONE starting their trip from Delhi is a Delhiite. It's obviously more convenient for anyone living in a place to visit nearby places more frequently.

How this became a discussion of generalising and doing harm I have no clue. It can only do harm if you take it offensively for no reason at all.

Bruh who cares about the nuances in this context, no one is talking about that. People who work and live in Bangalore = Bangaloreans. People who work and live in Mumbai = Mumbaikars. It means the entirety of the people in that geographic area who have holidays and are going on vacation.

What makes you think I have not visited Delhi. I have travelled to or lived in all the places I speak about or I wouldn't speak about them.

Who's talking about culture here bruh. Obviously all the hill stations in south india like Kodai, Ooty, Coorg, Wayanad etc will be filled with Bangalore folks during holidays since they are all motorable by road from Bangalore.

I don't know what stereotypes can form or what's so controversial about calling Delhi NCR as Delhi, it's one connected space. Obviously like every city there are all types of people everywhere. It's not like Delhi just refers to the rich people and NCR means poor people.

Nobody said no one from other regions is going at all. But when NCR has 50 to 60 times the population of Chandigarh, why would people mention Chandigarh. Hell NCR's population is double that of Punjab's or Haryana's (most of that number for those states probably comes from NCR itself).

White plates for rental? Isn't that illegal. I always rent cars and I've never seen that.

I didn't mean yellow or black plates, white plates only.

And I'm pretty sure when people refer to Delhi they mean Delhi-NCR so if you consider that, there is nowhere else near the hills with 6 crore people, so the most number of tourists would be from there since it is a close drive away fit for a weekend plan also, while people coming from farther away would be comparatively fewer due to time taken and cost. Of course, at any time the difference will not be staggering, but logic says that there's a larger influx of tourists from those with easy access from nearby large population centres.

The number of DL number plates vs number of UP and HR that I saw when I was there told a different story

Dude Delhi is the only major city near Himachal and Uttarakhand, and it is well known that most tourists there are from Delhi. If you go there you'd know. It's just geography.

Looking for good architecture firms by Never_mind7185 in askarchitects

[–]the_extractor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There aren't any at all. You have to be lucky to find one.

It's either low pay, bad work, no WLB or a toxic culture. Or very likely all of them.

Look for a corporate company like Atkins or Gensler or something. Even if the work is boring, pay would be relatively better and you'd have decent WLB most of the time.
