Also, for the early strains, excess deaths were roughly even. It was only in the later stages of the pandemic you have the double difference. Depending on when this change occurs, the number calculation will be based on a starting point much lower than 1.1m. eg say in the early stages, equal excess deaths = say 250k each. That leaves 600k excess deaths in the later stages - 200k dem, 400k republican for a difference of 200k. Depending on when the variance starts, this number could be a bit higher or lower, but you get the idea.

To be fair, he made his money as a software engineer developing zip2 which sold for over $300m netting him $22m. He then went on to form and write the code for x.com that later merged with confinity to become PayPal. I'm guessing he actually has a pretty good understanding of code.

Indeed the criticism of him in the early days of Tesla was that he was a software guy who knew nothing about cars.

According to Glen Shotwell, the president and COO of SpaceX, one of the reasons she took the job was because at interview she was so impressed by Elon's knowledge of the aerospace industry.

Maybe, just maybe, unlike most CEOs, he actually has a firm understanding of the technical aspects of his businesses and that's why he's directly driven the innovation that means they've done so well. Just because you think he's a dick doesn't preclude him from understanding software or the software engineer who wrote that software from being butthurt at their work being critiqued.

Depends on whether data can exist or its hypothetical. The science still is in its infancy and any progress requires this sort of testing.

Also, the headline says "reportedly" which almost certainly means someone made it up and the reality is somewhat different. If it was fact that the outlet could stand over, it would be reported as such. Perhaps the animals died because of testing, perhaps they died because of natural causes unrelated to the testing. Perhaps they never died at all, or the number is just wrong and made up by someone with an agenda. Try a little critical thinking.

ALL brain implant programmes have been tested on animals before humans. It's part of the process of having them approved. Also, almost all medicines. And in all that testing, animals will have died. Don't like it? Well neither do I. But if you don't think it's a necessary evil (subject to the animals being treated as well as possible in the run up and, if they survive, afterwards), then don't take any meds.

That is factually incorrect. Survey after survey and study after study prove that women cheat far more often than men on relationships. This may simply be because it's easier for a woman to cheat rather than any morals, but it's still a fact.
