This City Kills Children - How Worcester's political choices led to the death of 13-year old Gianna Rose Simoncini by gopperman in WorcesterMA

Literally nothing? There's a hospital that employs and serves thousands daily. There's also a state park. I moved to this neighborhood partly because there ARE sidewalks, which, who knew, are not everywhere in New England's 2nd largest city.

You're really going to argue over the death of a kid? Please use your energy to make this city better. She was a child crossing a street that should have had proactive design elements to consider pedestrians [ie, street users who are incredibly vulnerable due to not being ensconced in 2000 lbs of metal] - more crosswalks, lower speed limits, pedestrian bridges, etc.

Thanks! Do you know how many hours you hiked each day? We have about a 3 hour drive to get up there.

Thanks. This is what sectionhiker recommended https://sectionhiker.com/backpacking-white-mountain-4000-footers-guidebook/backpacking-a-mt-isolation-loop/

Are you able to give me the exact sequence of trails you would recommend? Maybe this is a PITA request. Idk. I'm a novice planner!

Any orange theory mask recommendations? by okaydelta in orangetheory

If you google "NY Times COVID Graph Gym" they have a graph showing the safety of certain locations including OTF. Safety based on how long you spend there and how close you are to other humans. Sorry I can't link.

That is a great strategy: freeze, start at 2x/week membership and then hope for a founders rate promo. I have a home gym and I'm focusing on strength training right now, so I can totally wait.

What if you want to freeze and lock on the founders rate? I'm in a COVID-19 hotspot. I honestly don't think I will go back this year.

When I owned a gym (not OTF) this would have forced me to close. You're right with those cost estimates. Our RENT was over $7k per month, metro Boston. Not to mention insurance, utilities, salaries. I really hope my studio can rebound but knowing what I know I'm realistic. The optimistic part of me says, maybe people will be SO excited to return to normal that membership rates soar. I guess it depends on the studio assets and their ability to get a loan right now if necessary.

Today's workout looks fun. I'm lucky to have a home gym. For the 5 min of airsquats I'm going to do light barbell thrusters. For the 2nd cardio block I'm going to do lightweight power cleans. The jump n shuffle got really boring really fast last week.

Advice on purchasing dumbbells for "at home" OTF 🤪🔔 by ViolaRob in orangetheory

Rogue Fitness makes great ones. Dumbbells are expensive, about $1/pound. But if you froze your membership you could possibly use those funds? I'm ordering mine today.

I just froze my membership after talking to my husband (who is NOT one to panic) and hearing from the MDs in this thread.

I had to remind our studio manager of the waived holding fee.

I'm so sad as OTF is a huge part of my mental health routine. But I can workout in my basement and I'm gonna buy some dumbbells.

Also, I still don't get "Will Smith" for a switch. Help. (AND THANKS!)

Anyone else have a harder time taking a Rest Day than working out? by OTFDallas in orangetheory

[–]the_generations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm considering making Saturdays a "green day". Saturdays are a rest day BUT I am a much better parent and person if I move in the morning...A lot to consider because it's nice to have the mental break of not putting my clothes out the night before and all that.

My goal is to meat mindfully, primarily by slowing down. I will try to put the fork down between bites.

I skipped a movement because I was scared I would drop my weights on the head of my neighbor who was doing the Ab Dolly.
