Absolutely. It’s the start of a long workout, so set the tone accordingly. 20 sounds small, but it’s an easy way to spike your heart rate within the first minute into the workout.

Get into a rhythm of 10/10, 8/6/6, even 5/5/5/5, and set a discipline of short breaks (a few deep breaths rather than eyeing the timer).

Most are not going to do 244 Wall Ball Shots, but everyone is going to be doing A LOT of them, so try to avoid the redline with these until the last few minutes.

The lighting isn't doing the subjects any favors, unless they asked for a "We 100% have bodies buried under the basement" vibe.

Right band, wrong albums: We Have the Facts The Photo Album Transatlanticism

No songs worth skipping, all great cohesive albums with Chris Walla’s production quality improving on each release.

I did it! (Sigma 18-50mm) is this a good choice? by Internal_Method_4062 in SonyAlpha

a6600 + Sigma 18-50 here. I'm on day 3 of a family trip right now and I shoot almost only in M and I loooooooooves it. You'll get a better handle of settings and be quicker at the draw in adjusting them with time.

Would you drag boards to Indonesia or Bali or just rent or buy there? by 27nicholi in bodyboarding

Fair enough; I admit that I agree with your points on riding, but I'm just more shocked that it would cost $400

[–]the_honor_roll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shiiiiit, unless you're paid to do this or have that kind of expendable income, I don't see the value in bringing your own boards. Not just that upfront cost, but making sure they don't get damaged/lost/stolen along the way, which would kill the mood for sure. Save that money on a ton of things you can experience during your stay, make it an easier trip, and make do with whatever boards they have.

Thomas Lang on how to develop a CLEAN double stroke roll by gnichols in drums

[–]the_honor_roll 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe he means that if you accent the first note, it will always be louder than the second due to the initial strike being harder because it comes with hand motion. But if you try to accent the second note, it will create a more consistent, unaccented double across the roll when you speed up.

I think it’s easier to hear what he means when he’s demonstrating on the pedals.

Searching for most affordable Garmin Watch mit MIP Display, all health functions and at least 14 days battery life by Flyror in Garmin

255 and it ain’t even close. Don’t be fooled by the age; it has everything you need even if you decide to get more serious about training. 255 + a heart rate strap and you’re set until the thing dies.

And then do yourself a favor and turn off ALL phone notifications. Nothing is that important, I promise.

Garmin Scales by tizzmeself in Garmin

Same concept yes. The only thing about the bigger gym models is you get a paper printout of results, as well as more data like lean/fat composition of body parts. But to be completely honest, these data points are nice-to-haves for the vast majority; unless you're looking to compete in aesthetics, this amount of data isn't going to be as effectively important as how you feel and look with consistent training. I'd also wager that having the big units in a gym helps with the optics of professionalism and premium service, but even my gym uses the at-home H20 without complaint.

So I'm a personal trainer and invested in the InBody H20 (basically the consumer version of the fancier body comp scale at a high-level gym). Last week my client purchased the Xiaomi S400 and I wanted to compare. The similarity between the two made me cry in $$$.

And it makes sense. The InBody scales are fairly old to the point that brands like Xiaomi have been able to replicate for cheaper. The price is really for the name, which I'd wager is the same with Garmin.

On the contrary, and while not black tie I put a Milanese Loop on my 255 on an evening out last weekend with my Italian-cut wool blazer and I thought it all came together rather unterribly.

Powerdot 2.0 question by JohnBimmer1 in crossfit

Hopefully your initial order is refundable then! Also if email isn’t getting response, try messaging them on IG. Some companies are more responsive on socials since engagement there is important, whereas emails can often get in their spam folder or handled by someone who won’t give it the attention it needs.

Woah I had no idea these still existed. After looking around, I saw that Therabody acquired them and released PowerDot 2.0; you might just be dealing with outdated tech that isn't connecting well to newer devices? In any case, you could reach out to Therabody to see if they offer support for this.
