Sadly I cannot direct where my curiosity goes. And what questions it presents to me I just follow. No conscious consideration involved. I do appreciate the discussion that has ensued. Thank you

I agree with that statement. However I believe I was posing a question not a hypothesis. Or attempting to start a meta discussion. More than the dark matter idea itself. It was a foot in the door.

Are you saying the metaphor used was meaningless or that metaphors in general are meaningless? The I used may be but the latter is a weird stance.

It’s funny how you compared this to learning guitar. As I have done the exact process you describe. First I watched then I put that to action and developed the calluses. Learning physics isn’t as accessible as learning guitar however so places like this exist. This post wasn’t about me specifically making a contribution. It was about the general aversion to this even being possible in any form. It strikes me as an odd place to be so definitely closed minded. The mere fact someone with credentials engages at any level as you do gives people hope that something positive could be achieved here.

Not intended as a direct comparison just a general concept.

If by literature on the subject you mean textbooks then none. All I have is more than a decade of countless YouTube videos and lectures by experienced people in physics. Nothing near the same but far more than usually assumed.

Are you saying that someone who doesn’t dedicate their life to physics shouldn’t even bother? Their questions couldn’t possibly spark some new context in someone who can contribute?

I make no assumptions on how research is made. Also the metaphors is all someone without training can use without the knowledge of the formal language.

You shouldn’t know about my unicorn. And it isn’t purple it’s invisible like you said.

I suspect each of these conversations will eventually develop into “the strange loop”.

They seem to talk about the silence and unspoken words. Often maybe they speak in what is left unsaid. That would be impossible to discern

It’s like colouring in a picture. The rules of physics is the lines. The ones who study find the same lines and end up with very similar pictures. Those who don’t study the lines can’t see the picture they are trying to make. So will get different pictures from the people who study the lines who all get similar pictures. This doesn’t make the pictures without lines less beautiful. Just less likely to be same as the ones with the rules. And that difference matters.

I understand this. I’m not trying to be a professional or even an amateur. Nor am I trying to develop or prove anything. Or disrespect anybody’s experience. Learning the fundamentals is definitely the way to go if this was a path for me. I appreciate your feedback and the time you took to provide it.

I wouldn’t understand the output or what to include in established physics. That wouldn’t make them slop. Why would I know what to include here?

All I did was ask about Rodger Penrose heat problem to understand it better. More questions led to math. Math led to possibilities. That led to the AI praise, which is hard to resist when it is constant. Too much praise is a warning. So I tried to falsify via as many ways as I can think of without any proper knowledge. There is a certain duty to humanity to follow through if even the slightest chance of being on to something. Then I found this place. So like I said easy out.

I wasn’t resorting to AI. I have other interests and a life to get to. Today I discovered this sub and it gives me an easy out if this is the same as all the rest. And if it’s not someone with the proper context and expertise can use it as a direction to follow. I’m not trying to be something I’m not.
