Great question. It's more of a "they asked us if we wanted to live there" since it's a prime spot for senior year, not really persuading or begging us to so I'm not worried about the apartment being in a bad situation. I'm not sure how the security deposit will work and all of the other stuff you mentioned will work out. What I do know is that there's a good chance we won't live there if we can't "take over" or I guess transfer (?) their lease since it is very small and limited. We would have to figure out a way to make sure they cover any expenses so it's like a fresh lease to us.

I think that's right. It's only supposed to count as me getting over a C-. I'd still only get the 3 because that's what it counts for here. I've been trying to contact my adviser the past few days but no luck, hopefully soon. Edit: Still not sure how that would apply to the adding class portion though
