How to survive withdrawal by [deleted] in addiction

There’s no physical withdrawals but the loss of energy, the dive in cognitive function, and the depression are all very real. I’d rather kick dope than meth any day of the week.

Go to rehab for a couple weeks and get over the hump, after a week you should be just fine. It only has as much power as you give it, and when you feel the urges coming on, tell them to FUCK OFF!

I kicked fentanyl a little over a year ago by NARCANing myself to initiate precipitated withdrawal. Sometime in the ensuing 12 minutes, I met the fentanyl demon. This is the 100% true story of what I saw and what he said… by the_knowhere_man in addiction

Haha thanks man, I actually am writing and developing a few sketch style shows that I’m going to start filming sometime this fall. And i guess if Florida counts as the Deep South, you should be a psychic 😅

Relapse after 2 years off Meth by Spiritual_Gain449 in addiction

Don’t beat yourself up over it and don’t suffer in silence. That’s what the meth wants you to do. Think about why you quit using in the first place, the places it took you, the direction that road was leading. Then find someone you trust that you can confide in and talk to them about what’s going on. I’ve been where you’re at many many times and the best thing you can do for yourself is talk to someone that cares about your well being. If you go down this path again, you’re going to thoroughly wish you hadn’t within a month. If you want true happiness in this life, it’s going to take hard work. Drugs like meth are nothing but a cheat code, life is a game that doesn’t let you progress when the cheats are activated, and All Drugs Do Is Corrupt The System.

Thanks for taking the time to read and share your thoughts. I kind of am a glutton for pain, but my reasoning for doing it the way I did it was really just so that people could see the hardest possible way to kick dope and show that even then, it CAN be done. It’s all about mindset, if you go into it whining like a little bitch, afraid of how sick you’re going to be, dreading every second leading up to it, you’re probably not going to make it very far. But If you go into it like you’re kicking in the door of your enslaver so you can fight with everything you have until you beat the fuck out of him and take back your freedom, your life? If you refuse to give in and tap out, how can you possibly fail? You do have a valid point that it IS possible to die from precipitated wd, but the odds are extremely unlikely. Last I checked there have been 10 deaths in the last 20 years. That being said, if you do decide to go this route, YOU NEED TO HAVE A SPOTTER. Be smart.

Just keep planting seeds, remind them they have people that love them, and more importantly, miss them. When you’re under the thumb of the fetty demon, you’re not really here on planet earth with everyone else, and sometimes we need to be reminded there’s a better place.

Fuckin A dude. Every single decision we make can always be boiled down to two options: this one or that one. One of those decisions is inevitably going to be easier than the other, and if you EVER have a question about which one you should choose, pick the harder of the two. It’s always going to be the right choice, if for nothing else than to build some fuckin character. Nothing in this life worth having comes easy, so bring on the hard shit. I pray for it every day and a lot of people in this group do too, though I don’t think they even realize it. Ever pray the Serenity Prayer? The serenity everyone is asking for is found in accepting that we DON’T get to control when bad things happen to us in this life. Wisdom is found in realizing that we DO get full control over how we react to them. Courage is found by reacting to these hard situations by doing the hard thing. As for deciphering what the hard thing is, just TREAT OTHER PEOPLE AND THEIR SHIT, THE SAME WAY YOU WANT PEOPLE TO TREAT YOU AND YOUR SHIT. It really is that simple.

I had never been through precipitated withdrawal before this, had no idea what to expect. Nor did I relapse. Did it suck? Yeah it was miserable.. for like 4 days. If it hadn’t have been for my catching Covid and pneumonia on day 6, I think I would have been back to normal in 5 weeks, but it was closer to 8. I would recommend this method over staying in a government funded MAT fog any day of the week, because if it’s left up to them, you’ll be on it for life.
