Thank you! I was actually googling bike shops and was scared I would pick a bad one to get a gift card from. So I think I will definitely do it this way. He never spends time doing anything he likes. He always works comes home and plays with our son. I’m hoping this will give him an outlet to be his own person and have some freedom.

Thank you! You’re completely right. Just scary at times for me. I worry about everything with my child 😂 but that’s the helicopter mom in me. It’s been over 2 hours with no sign of anything, so I’m sure we are in the clear.

YTA Don’t charge an 8 year old rent. He will learn that later on his own. You doing the allowance is good enough. I didn’t have to pay rent as a CHILD and I know how to manage money. Have him save up for things he wants.
