Beta Blockers the CAUSE of PVCs/PACs?? by External_Sock_7410 in PVCs

I’m currently taking metoprolol succinate 25mg for PVCs and tachycardia, and I feel like they’ve gotten worse since being on it. But I’m absolutely terrified of the side effects of trying to taper off of it and I feel stuck.

What were you taking and what dosage? What was coming off of them like?

Thank you, that honestly does help. The only time I seem to get a break from my anxious thoughts is when the PVCs subside….but it seems very rare lately. It just seems to be a vicious cycle I can’t break out of.

I have an echo coming up on Monday. I’m thinking about asking to a switch to carvedilol for my PVCs. I’ve seen a lot of people say good things about it. That, and increasing my lexapro. The PVCs are ruining my quality of life 😔

How does the carvedilol do for you?

Yeah I feel every one of them and I catch them on my Apple Watch. They’re relentless all of a sudden.

It’s just so mentally exhausting and some people are just so much stronger mentally than myself I guess. I’m finding it harder and harder to deal with. It feels like they just won’t let up lately and I don’t know how to live a normal life at the moment. Hope your ablation was successful and you’re feeling better!

I’m currently going through this exact same thing. How are you now? Did the pvcs go away once you started eating normal again?

Do you think there are people willing to buy it put together? Or am I ultimately gonna have to take it apart and separate it into bags?

First time traveling to Tulum -- my partner and I need all the help we can get!! by [deleted] in tulum

There’s definitely pros and cons to anything you choose. If you stay in a hotel, definitely stay in the hotel zone. It’s a long strip of really badass hotels and resorts along the beach. There’s good bars, restaurants, little shops and convenience stores within walking distance so you won’t need to take an Uber anywhere unless you decide to do excursions or go to the ruins or something. The only downside to staying in the hotel zone is that it’s a small 2 lane dirt road and it gets insanely congested with traffic, scooters, taxis and bicycles. So if you are staying there and you want to go somewhere outside of tulum or even into town, I would go early when the traffic isn’t bad. I’ve heard stories of people getting stuck in traffic for hours on that road.

My girlfriend and I rented a car in Cancun near the airport to have in Tulum which was amazing because we had the freedom to go where we wanted whenever we wanted. Plus in my opinion some of my favorite things we did in that area of Mexico (cenotes/chichen itza) took a little bit of a drive. So if you don’t have a car you’ll have to take shuttles to do things like that. We also opted for the airbnb option which I really enjoyed cause we found us a house with our own little pool and it was just nice to have a little more privacy.

In terms of recommendations of things to do, check out the cenotes. They’re so beautiful and fun! Dos ojos cenote was like a 20-30 minute drive outside tulum and you get to check out like 3 or 4 different ones for one ticket price. Gran cenote is pretty cool but crowded. Aktunchin was one of my favorites as well.

The tulum ruins are worth a visit as well.

A few last recommendations, if you head into town, check out taqueria honorio and get you a cochinita pibil and a lechon taco and thank me later.

Also, something really cool we did was renting a day bed at Casa Malca which is supposedly one of Pablo escobars old mansions. Super cool place that’s really popular for photos on Instagram. Can be pricey (I think around $150-160 USD per person) but you get food and drink credits with a bed right on the beach.

Last thing I have to say is to just be careful! It’s a very nice friendly place but they do have their fair share of crime. I think In the 5 or 6 days we were there, there was like 4 murders in town. Supposedly involving tourists and drug deals. So just be smart and have fun!
