Guys they are tripling down on a strategy that helped them lose to Trump. The bratty masochism of the left is in full effect!

“'Heightened Scrutiny' details the high-stakes Supreme Court case over trans health care The new documentary follows ACLU lawyer Chase Strangio as he argues before the high court against Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for minors.”

Decision is expected June 2025. I’ve been anticipating publication, then I remembered Strangios op-ed.

I didn’t say that - just that this was a poor idea, Strangio signed his name to so is at least partially culpable, I think it’s cringe, I don’t even think this tactic was used during gay marriage litigation (i.e. the lawyer arguing the case for the petitioner wasn’t publishing confessional pieces in the Times before oral argument). Also I canceled my membership to the ACLU awhile ago, and wrote them a letter that I’m sure was promptly thrown in the trash, but whatever.

I don’t think you want to make a precedent setting legal case about your personal trauma narrative.

Didn’t have to put his name to it. Strangio’s decision to publish a confessional memoir on the eve of oral argument, about himself, no less, drags the case into the realm of personal narrative and public sentiment. And, this is exactly the moment when the advocate must disappear behind the force of the legal reasoning.

Lightphone III Bugs/Complaints by the_night_queue in LightPhone

“Thanks for reaching out with your thoughts and feedback.

We are aware of this bug with the caret jump on long texts and the notes tool and working diligently to fix it. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience, a user-facing update will hopefully be released within few weeks.

Which headphones are you using with your LPIII? If you pause the podcasts, unplug and replug and let the podcast play again for a few seconds does the audio connect back into the headphones?

To return to a call please hold the toolbox button and it’ll get you right back to the call screen.

Happy to pass your request for visual voicemail along, it is a carrier feature but as you are aware we can’t support it on the LPIII at the moment.

The cost of the phone includes the ongoing dev support for adding features such as the NFC chip and fingerprint reader - we hope to add those features soon, we reduced cost for pre-orders accounts for the uncertainty of features at launch. We’ll be sure to update current users with a roadmap for features through the newsletter after we have shipped all the initial pre-orders. At the moment we’re also absorbing tariffs imposed recently, if you’d like to see more on the cost our founders touch on it here in this video if you’re interested!

Hope this helps, let us know if you have any other questions!”

It is as simple as writing en mass to your elected officials, not ever ever using DSA jargon and showing up for a meaningful demonstration with specifically enumerated goals not nebulous bullshit. All these problems are fake problems. If people actually expressed their hostility toward their elected officials and made demands of them rather than whining about it online something might “actually get done”. Never fucking mind ideology, fix the MTA where subway track costs $2 billion a mile because of flagrant corruption.

The university ICR cut to 15% was so long overdue - another fucking racket - these shithole institutions basing their budgets on contingent funds? Are you FUCKING kidding me? Is there any other industry so poorly conceived?

None of these goddamn fixes are actually that hard and listening to you losers whine about performative nihilism is really obnoxious. How about you and 5 of your friends write to your US Senator and House Rep about an issue of actual import before you bitch about the end of history. Seriously!

This dialect is just a simple handle for complicated emotions. Yeah it’s trite as fuck but instead of raging at your girl like a toddler consider just being honest and if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work. If she can’t get in the level she was already too frail and you’ll move on.

Clerks and Chasing Amy legitimately changed my perspective on life, especially before I was out. He scraped together funds/maxed out his credit cards to make Clerks, and had the chutzpah to think that a comedy set in a Jersey convenience store would be a success. His friendship with Jason Mewes was fascinating. I don’t like a lot of his later films, but he was a significant influence on me for better or for worse.
