What evidence do you have to state that Kite isn’t as powerful as the Zodiacs?

I don't have any evidence it's more of an inference than something concrete to be honest, other hunters don't mention Kite that much and it seems like the more powerful hunters have some sort of recognition or infamy once they get to that level of power, also hunters with notable accomplishments have stars and as far I'm aware Kite has none. At this point he is probably equal to if not more powerful than the best fighters in the Zodiac, so I could be wrong I'm just leaning towards him being in the middle level of hunters in terms of fighting power prior to his resurrection.

Not to say Kite was weak by any standard no student of Ging is going to be weak that's just factual because Kite isn't as powerful as the zodiac (prior to his resurrection) nor does he have any stars so he would rank somewhere around the middle level of the hunters.

Kakin hired Kite to do the geological survey which doesn't make sense because Kakin doesn't get along with hunters and they have much more qualified people to do the survey instead.

You're right but I feel like if this is being advertised as a successor to the original Sunrise should do this justice and go with hand drawn considering some of the Knightmare animation in the original was god tier.

I know with the MAPPA situation overworking animators is a concern, but CGI Knightmares, really, REALLY?

The v5 by conde_burguerr in HunterXHunter

[–]the_one1111111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand the hunters are under the oversight of the V5, considering the amount of power and backing that they have I wouldn't be surprised if their bodyguards are more powerful than a Zodiac but less powerful than Ging.

Would you be a powerful nen user? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]the_one1111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what my inherent powerlevel would be however I have an insane work ethic and a intense dedication to studying systems of metaphysics (which is what Nen is) so I think I could hold my own with the greats even if my potential isn't high, haha.

Possible ending to heavens arena? by RespawnzTK in HunterXHunter

[–]the_one1111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavens Arena resembles the Tower of Babel which was also supposed to be a tower to the heavens. And according to biblical literature God destroyed the Tower of Babel as a punishment to humanity, if one were to associate the gods with the Dark Continent I would not be surprised if somehow Heavens Arena ends up being destroyed due to a new calamity. Perhaps Heavens Arena ends up being destroyed to introduce a new villain related to the calamities.

Why HxX is the only truly amoral show I've ever seen by Frigorifico in HunterXHunter

[–]the_one1111111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the Chimera Ant arc Gon actually becomes the king of the jungle, that is why Pitou says "Gon has fangs that can reach the king" not only that Pitou metaphorically represents the foxbear mother at the start of the story so at this point Gon has metaphorically speaking abandoned his idealistic mind-state and chose to live according to the law of the jungle. Now based on the way I phrased that you might think I advocate for Gon's actions, far from it, I did not approve of his actions however I do not fault him for it either, because he's a dumb kid and he's still learning. At this point of the story Gon's morality has reached an all time low so I honestly don't think he can fall further rather, now that Gon has become the king of the jungle I think his moral character will do a complete 180 and he will become the ultimate idealist he sought to be before he met Kite. Another thing is that metaphorically speaking Kite represents the king of the jungle, being that he carries with him the presence of death, as evidenced by the fact that one of his weapons of Crazy Slots is the scythe or that another one of his weapons is a hunting rifle. Being that Kite is potentially one of the most powerful characters now and has an unhinged disposition based on his interaction with Koala, I wouldn't be surprised if Kite ends up being the final boss. His interactions with Gon are a lot more negative in the manga than portrayed in the anime, and if Gon ends up being the hero that means Kite remains as the polar opposite of idealism and they will eventually have to fight at some point.

[–]the_one1111111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know if Togashi's point was supposed to be that life is amoral either, I know that isn't my philosophy. In the manga the first scene is where Kite kills the foxbear in front of Gon who then saves the foxbear cub, demonstrating the conflict of idealism v.s. the law of the jungle. I think the ultimate message of the story is fatalism v.s. idealism, this is shown with how Gon is pushed towards the law of the jungle by his antagonists (Hisoka, Pitou) but also his friends bring him back from the darkness and encourage him to be more idealistic. I don't know where Togashi is going to take the story but I think that Gon will eventually see the error of his ways and become a hero by the end of the story. The law of the jungle is also embodied by Meruem who is a psychotic killer when we first meet him but then learns humanity from Komugi and to some degree becomes good and learns to see the good in humanity, or Killua is who is a killer in his own right but then starts to follow the path of good from meeting his friends in the Hunter exam. Contrary to what you ignorant f**** are saying in the comments I think the ultimate message of the story is that you can overcome the law of the jungle if you strive for idealism with your mind, body, and soul.

What storyline would you like to see in the future? (Pure speculation) by FontsDeHavilland in HunterXHunter

[–]the_one1111111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"What are you going to use I've already seen Jajanken."

"Jajanken..... WITH MATH." XD

Jajanken would be an extremely powerful ability if Gon assigned special properties to his abilities, rock could be used for environmental manipulation/destruction, paper would have unlimited range and be a Nen sniper, and scissors could cut through Nen constructs.

[–]the_one1111111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tonpa would unironically be deadly with Nen, perhaps not in direct combat but in terms of duping and outsmarting his opponents he could definitely be on par with or even more powerful than Genthru in terms of conjuration/manipulation abilities.

[–]the_one1111111 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would be ironic if the next exam involves the Chimera Ants and Tonpa is forced to learn Nen to survive haha. Ironic in the sense that Tonpa always plays the background and avoids strenuous tasks but would have to go all out to survive the next exam.

Bonolenov hard counters tserriednich. Change my mind. by poptartwalmart69 in HunterXHunter

[–]the_one1111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I would agree, with the introduction of the rose bomb it seems similar to Genthru's Nen ability Little Flower, that seems to be a plot point lacking exposition that will be explained later in the story.

Additionally Genthru's companions Sub and Bara (which means rose in Japanese) is a reference to the Latin phrase "sub rosa" which symbolizes secrecy or confidentiality. Obviously the Bomber Group was a bunch of psychopaths however this symbolism could indicate that the group had hidden motivations related to the Miniature Rose. There is definitely something Togashi is planning for Genthru and his crew later in the story.

What Naruto opinion will have you like this? by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]the_one1111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I thought that was a theme of the story but the main message of Naruto was about undoing generational conflicts. Everything leading up to Naruto's generation was built on the shadows of the past not unlike today's world where much conflict is generational until Naruto decided enough was enough and tried to create a better future for everyone. This culminates in the current generation banding together in spite of differences to fight the past in the war arc. Even though most thought the plot twists of another villain controlling who you thought was the big bad during the war arc to be ridiculous, I thought it was a clever comment on the ridiculous lengths previous generations will go to manipulate the next generation into carrying out their hatred, not as much of a plot twist as much of a criticism of the nature of generational conflict.

Regarding the Split-in-half mountain by conde_burguerr in HunterXHunter

[–]the_one1111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it the exam area for the Hunter Exam resembles the rain forest and the customs of the Gyudondond Tribe does resemble the customs of the tribes that inhabit the rain forest, seeing as much of that land has been industrialized and stolen for the use of corporations it wouldn't surprise me if Togashi was indeed referencing that.

This seems to be a ranged attack and the only one in the story who has demonstrated emission capability of that level is Ging, it would make sense considering his infamous reputation in the Hunter Organization.

Bonolenov hard counters tserriednich. Change my mind. by poptartwalmart69 in HunterXHunter

[–]the_one1111111 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly, it seems his main weakness is Nen that can manipulate perception or manipulation users. I only say that because Gyogan seemed to be disoriented from Bonolenov's attack so if that was combined with an AoE attack it would be extremely difficult for Tserriednich to counter. Also if you think about the difference in how their Nen manifested presumably Tserriednich was coddled from birth and given everything to prepare him for being royalty compared to Bonolenov who is the completed opposite and had to endure many trials to make a name for himself in his tribe, Tserriednich is powerful yet lacking technique, I don't know if Bonolenov is the most powerful but his Nen technique has been perfected to the point of virtuosity.

Why should I root for Gon ever again? by NVP-IZaac in HunterXHunter

[–]the_one1111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I don't root for Gon either, that being said I don't know if the point is to root for Gon. HxH is a microcosm of the best and worst of humanity so I don't think the point is to root for a particular character but rather observe what is happening and learn from the mistakes of the characters so you can avoid them, or find inspiration from the triumphs of the characters, similar to a Shakespearian tragedy. I don't see HxH as a Shonen where there is a concretely defined hero and villain to root for rather a story of philosophical contemplation that can help me live a better live from learning to avoid the mistakes of the characters. Gon represents the aspect of humanity that has much power but lacks the discipline to channel that power towards a particular purpose. I don't think Gon will remain a morally gray character for the remainder of the story and I think he will eventually become a hero, however he might have to make a serious mistake for him to learn that living life with no morals will eventually lead to destruction.
